This was our second visit, and as last year, we had a wonderful holiday. We stayed in Maevy which was perfect for our family of 4. Gitcombe itself is idyllic. It is situated within beautiful surroundings, so calm & peaceful with great amenities to keep children happy. Joanne & Peter have put a lot of work in since their new... More

Had an amazing week staying the Garden House in June of 2014. First, the accommodation is catered to families with stair gates and small cabin beds that my twins who were 2.5 loved. The area is seculded but there is so much to do on site. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The outdoor pool was warmer than the indoor one... More

Beautifully situated, Gitcombe House Cottages are ideal if you require a comfortable, well maintained, 5*holiday cottage with great facilities for the kids. Joanne, Peter (and Max) are absolutely lovely and so very helpful. The sports shed, with crabbing nets, windbreaks, buckets, spades etc is a nice touch for guests to use on a day out to one of the many... More

We have just returned from a week at Gitcombe with our 2 small children and I would throughly recommend it. We stayed in Meavy - which was reasonably small downstairs but upstairs (the living area) was a great size, with a balcony and really well appointed kitchen and living space. The surroundings are beautiful - every way you look out... More

We have just come back from our second trip to Gitcombe. We considered going abroad but had so much fun the year before in Devon we opted to return. We have stayed in both the coach house and garden house and both suited our needs perfectly. The garden house allowed the grandparents to join us for a couple of days!... More

We have just returned from a week at Gitcombe - a very lovely part of the Devon countryside within 15 mins drive of Dartmouth. Our girls loved the pools and the hot tub - which we had to ourselves more often than not. The grounds are stunning with views over rolling countryside, the owners were down to earth and very... Our first trip to Gitcombe and wow - it was all we hoped for and more. The new, energetic owners are lovely - the perfect balance of low key and around if you need them. Immaculate property - all elements cared for daily- indoor pool, outdoor pool, playground, hot tub with fab views and a superb tennis court to name... More

Our third visit, it's becoming a habit! Have reviewed this before and it's still as good as ever. Very impressed with the new owners. When I mentioned that my supermarket delivery was cancelled due to "being too busy", leaving us in a bit of a mess as the kids needed to eat, plus I couldnt talk to the supermarket as... More

We stayed in the coach house at Gitcombe with our 20mth old daughter and couldn't have asked for more. The accommodation was a great combination of a traditional building with all the mod cons and was clean and well maintained (as were all the facilities). The grounds were very peaceful, you wouldn't have known there were other people there. The... More

We loved Gitcombe. The location is perfect as it is completely stunning countryside all around and you wake up to the sounds of the countryside. However it is still an easy 10-15 minute drive to Dartmouth with all the shops, restaurants etc as well as several lovely country pubs only 5 minutes away. The cottage *Yennadon" was very well kitted... More
