We have been visiting Torquay and the surrounding areas for nearly 30 years we have stayed in many places from hotels, guest houses, camping etc. The mariners guest house is one of the best. We stayed here 22nd july 2014 for nearly a week. We were made to feel welcome right from the start. The standard of cleanliness is outstanding... More

We arrived here on Monday 7th July and from the minute we walked in we have been made to feel welcome. Today is our last full day and all I have to say is that we would a) recommend the hotel to others and secondly this would be the first place we would try and book if we were coming... More

Stayed 2 nights in the Mariners using it as base whilst exploring Torquay and local area. Good location close to the sea front. The owners were very welcoming and attentive and rooms very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was superb, I had the traditional full English but plenty of choice. Happy to recommend the Mariners

Had an all-too-brief stay here, and loved it. Lovely decor, and everything extremely clean and well appointed. I managed to be strong and NOT have the full English breakfast, but the poached eggs were perfection, and the other items available were so fresh and tasty, too! Will definitely stay here again if visiting Torquay...

My partner and I stayed here back in September 2013 for his passing out ceremony. I stayed myself for the first night, and then he joined me for the remaining two. Only good things can be said about this place! For one, the staff were the most considerate, welcoming and warm people. The owners were nothing but nice, and very... More

Stayed here for two nights, my room was described as a small double, perfectly adequate! Central for the town, railway, and beach. As others have said, spotlessly clean, friendly host and great breakfast! Only two negatives and that's being picky, very small bath towel and breakfast is a little late starting at 8.30am. I needed to get a train at... More

We were visiting family for one night and our children stayed at their brothers. We booked the Mariner as around the corner from their house, it was a last minute booking, so didn't know what to expect. Absolutely beautiful bedroom, lovely decoration, spotlessly clean, even though on a main road really quiet. Breakfast was lovely again in a beautifully decorated... More

We stayed at the Mariners Guest House for two nights 25-27th October. After searching long and hard for a bargain stay that fitted my fussy criteria, (modern, very clean and good value) we decided to stay at Mariners . What a choice! We arrived later than the check in time of 7pm as we hit traffic on our journey, after... More
