Really been so pleased with my stay at Newton House. Nice Garden, transport accessibility (train and bus stops) right in front, beach and shops nearby, massive parking space, not to forget that they offer Filipino breakfast (indeed taste like home), etc... One holiday that I wouldn't forget! Keep up the good job, John and Ani!

Thanks "ELP" for your nice comments. We really aim to please and it is gratifying when we succeed. Glad you enjoyed our authentic Filipino breakfast, as an alternative to the traditional English Breakfast. We hope you will also try the English Breakfast next time, along with our Continental Breakfast , Fish course and our "Light Bites". Welcome back anytime. More

You'll see from my other reviews from around the globe I feel I'm an honest reviewer. If u want a reasonably priced place to stay, in a good area close to Torre train station and walkable into the harbour then this is the place for you. My only grip...no wifi. Oops. There is!! You have to ask the owner to... More

Matthew, Thanks for your review. Our internet system has radically changed, since you were here. NOW IT IS 24 HOURS * NO TIME RESTRICTION * AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. However, your comments are unnecessarily harsh, even for the previous situation. In June this year, our guest internet usage WAS time-restricted ONLY for FREE USE. (That was because we were on... We so enjoyed our stay at Newton House, the rooms were spotlessly clean and everything you could think of needing was available to you. John and Ani were lovely, friendly and very approachable The food was exceptionally good and plentiful. We have no hesitation in recommending Newton House and will definitely be going back for another stay. Thank you once... More

Thanks Jackie, for your review. We enjoyed having you all here. It's a treat for us to see guests having a good time and appreciating the facilities, as much as you all did. Welcome any time. More

Myself and husband stayed here on 16/8/2014 for 2 nights. The hotel was very clean, and the location was good ( we walked into Torquay- which took us about 15 mins). The only issue I have with this hotel is that it is very dated, the rooms& bathrooms have not been modernised for a long time, but like I have... More

Thank you Claire J. for your review and nice comments about Breakfast etc. We are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay. We are constantly updating and modernising the whole building, so we feel that your comments about all bedrooms and bathrooms are rather sweeping, considering that you stayed once, in one room. Actually all the rooms now have updated... More

This hotel is right across the road from Torre Station so is ideal for getting around on the train. Trains run to Paignton and Torquay twice an hour and it costs £2,80 per trip. Trains also run regularly into Exmouth and Exeter St. Davids. The hotel is lovely and clean and John and Ani are well organised. The rooms are... More

Thanks Sue P, for your detailed review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The walk into central Torquay is 10 minutes (Town Hall), 20 minutes to the harbour. On signage, we realise that some of the signs are unnecessary for some guests, but we also have to cater for those who are inconsiderate and not so "switched on". The... More

Now we have arrived back in NewZealand, I feel I have to write to you to express our feelings that resulted from the one night we spent at Newton House. We arrived late in the afternoon and stopped because there was a "Vacancy" notice on the sign. I parked the car and stepped up to the front door and tried... More

Mr Andrew G made extensive and sometimes irrelevant comments. Here are our responses to some of them. Newton House has a secure (locked) main door. Guests like that. Contrary to what Mr Andrew G seems to expect, we are not always skulking behind the door, waiting for guests to arrive. We have to walk (one minute) from our quarters to... More

We had great experience at this lovely B&B. The rooms were so clean. John (the owner) was very helpful and nice to us as well. I would really recommend this place to people visiting Torquay and we'd definitely come back to this place!
