My husband and I have just returned from another holiday at the Norcliffe Hotel. The location is perfect, the views are fabulous and our hosts, Nick and Karen were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back. We will only go to Torquay if we can stay here.

Had a great week all our party enjoyed their stay. The host was very friendly and helpful I don't understand the negative comments . If you book two star cheap and cheerful don't expect five star meals or five star rooms. This is an old Victorian era hotel upgraded for todays use and suits the purpose. We would stay there... We were surprised that David Urquhart used this very shabby hotel, the breakfast was well cooked but served on tea plates! Dinner was awful, starter was a choice of orange juice? grapefruit? or soup which was made from a packet, dinner was frozen veg and packet cheese sauce over watery fish, obviously microwaved. We ate out on the other days.... More

We thought that the 2 star rated hotel would be basic, but the food was excellent, the location great and the owner Nick exceptionally friendly. We met others who had been to this hotel several times before, which says it all !!

Hotel basic but very good value for money. Nick, owner, very friendly and helpful and worked hard to make everyone welcome. We were Upgraded to a family room with sea view because lift only goes to 1st floor and I cannot manage stairs. The meal on arrival was soup or juice starter with choice of oven fish or shop bought... More
