We had a four-night stay and from the moment we walked in we felt at home. Althouh the standards were very high, with a professioanl approach, the welcome was friendly, making us feel comfortable. The owners were approachable and always available but not `in your face`. The food was excellent and the room very clean and cosy. Hadn`t been to... more

I have just come back from a short stay at Aveland House and was very impressed the area is lovely quiet but near to amenities and the owners were so accomodating, asked us to call them by their first names and we felt like old friends visiting . Recommended ++++++ more

nice little gem tucked away in a leafy suburb -- the broad tree-lined quiet avenue leads nicely up to the b&b. st mary's church is nearby, babbacombe beach is a five minutes' walk and there are quite a few eateries/shops nearby. the view of the cliffs over babbacombe beach on an idyllic sunny sunday can be gorgeous. bus no. 32... more

The hotel and rooms were very clean. Really well located. I liked that it was quiet and comfortable, especially the lounges in the evening. Owners very friendly. Breakfast really smashing. Nice to see vegetarian options available as well as a great full English. Will 100% be staying again this year and I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. more

I stayed in February of 2009 with my husband to get away from the city for a weekend. The hotel was spotless, and very comfortable as well as being great value for money. When we arrived, Jacqui and David Blenkinsopp were so welcoming! The fact that it is family run makes a real difference. The hotel is very close to... more

We had a very pleasant few days at the Aveland. We had a family room which was spotlessly clean though somewhat cramped! The owners were delightful and made us very welcome. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Babbacombe town itself and from the seafront so is very convenient and also very quiet. If I had a criticism it... more

My husband and i stayed at the Aveland Hotel this weekend and i cannot recommend it highly enough. The couple who run it are friendly, welcoming and had lots of suggestions of things to do in the local area. The rooms were a good size, clean and well kept and had a lovely homely feel. The surrounding area is lovely... more
