Rooms were spacious clean and tidy. Booked triple en suite and twin room with private facilities. Fantastic breakfast with wide range of choices. Facilities excellent with a well stocked basement bar. Hosts were welcoming, very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. A very well run guest house would definitely recommend the Sandpiper to anyone wishing to stay in Torquay.... More

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, the room was spotlessly clean and very attractive, the breakfasts are amazing and the guest house itself has everything you could ask for - a lovely garden, a bar and a lounge. It's worth going to Torquay just to stay at the Sandpiper!

Can't fault anything. Russell and Helen were very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. Our room was well situated, very clean, good shower and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals were both excellent and they catered well for our daughter and she loved the food. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a great... More

As guest houses and private hotels go this is amongst the very best. The only thing that takes it out of the "excellent" bracket for us was that the en-suite facilities in our room were rather on the "tight" side, However. I appreciate that this is an issue for many proprietiors of older properties seeking to provide modern comprehensive facilities.... More

The Sandpiper is a credit to the owners. We received a warm welcome; the room was well furnished and spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was very good - powerful with plenty of hot water, and the breakfast was absolutely superb. You can order an evening meal and there is a bar with a pleasant seating area outside... More

Rooms are superb and well done, staff are great&the food is excellent! So good we even rang them to see if we could go over for dinner the night after we left. Dog... More

A great place to stay with excellent service and a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had an enjoyable breakfast which left us feeling filled up until mid afternoon.

We spent a week at the guest house and it is immaculate, food well cooked, service was way above great. We felt welcome and though we came by car, if we had not we would have been collected from the nearby train station. Helen and Russell are very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and lovely room. This... More

I have just spent 4 wonderful nights at the Sandpipers, from the very minute we arrived until the minute we left we were treated to an experience far superior to any 4 star hotels we have stayed in . Our hosts Russell & Helen were second to none and the personal touch they have achieved in every single aspect, has... More
