This hotel is very good. A small privately owned, clean, Victorian Villa with a nice atmosphere, run by helpful staff in a professional but friendly way. We booked a four night mini break and actually arrived in Torquay, much earlier than expected and called in at around midday to ask when was the earliest we could check into our room.... More

Just returned from a 5 night stay.. We had room 16, yes a little dated but very comfortable bed and everything spotlessly clean. I would have liked a sea view room, but all were taken, but at this time of the year, it is dark anyway. . The lounge and restaurant were really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful,... More

We made a late booking and got one of the internal-facing twin rooms. Clean and functional, and a reasonable size. The hotel is quite nice and well positioned but it is a 15 to 20 min walk to Torquay centre and there is a fairly steep hill involved. 3 minutes walk from the coast - nice beach and great views.... I would firstly like to start by saying that I am one of the party of 20 in the review below and couldn't disagree more with the review. This hotel has served my family for the best part of 10 years. We absolutely love the Balmoral and stay here with pride. The hotel itself is in a great location, easy... More

Myself and my family (party of 20 regularly) have stayed here over a period of ten years and its fair to say we have noticed a decline each visit and this was the most disappointing of the visits ever. We took the weekend break offer and arrived on the Friday and its fair to say the disappointment started more or... More
