Excellent location for the sea front, harbour is a ten minute walk and main shopping area is a 5 minute walk, if you take the Lucius Street route. Convenient for bus route which is just as well as parking is a nightmare, we were lucky to get a space and left the car there for the duration, apparently there is... More

Loved the night my partner and I had there. David helped us unload our car and showed us to our very spacious room. Perfect size for us as we brought our baby along. Breakfast was amazing. Cooked perfectly and the waitress was very nice. Sadly our stay was cut short to one night instead of two due to family issue.... More

Returned for a 3 night "football special" weekend. Excellent location with short walk to seafront, harbour and town centre. Friendly, helpful hosts. Clean comfortable room and excellent sleep on very comfortable bed. Piping hot good quality breakfast. Excellent 3 points for the Mighty Mariners - a simply perfect weekend !! Stayed here for three nights 10/11/12.08.14 & wish it could have been longer. Nothing but praise for this guest house. Angela and Dave were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them and Dave is a mine of local information. The room was spacious and very clean with little added touches you don't find in other guest houses. The... More

Stayed for 1 night at the lawnswood on August 8th we had a small double which was fine and is what you expect from a B&B and reading a SMALL minority of people's reviews complaining of the size if you book a small double what do you expect... Rant over now on to the pro's the room was spotlessly clean... More

We had a great welcome and lots of helpful advice from our hosts. Excellent breakfast - as big or small as you like! The hotel is a short walk from both the front and town centre in an area full of hotels and guest houses. Very quiet at night. My daughter and I had the small double which was clean... More

Thank you for a lovely stay, we ask for the small double. It was on the cramped side only because we carry so much luggage from Australia. My sister had a larger room and it was ample. Very clean. Great breakfasts and help planning days out in the car and making sure we had a parking spot on our return.

Rooms clean but hallways dated and doesn't smell nice, not really made to feel welcome and strict rules about eating in the rooms which baffled us! Breakfast was nice but felt really awkward, will not be returning.

We're responding to this review and the 2nd review dated 1/06/14 which was a joint booking. Firstly we make no apology for the guest house 'smelling' of cooked English breakfast in the mornings, what better way to start the day with a full English breakfast. Secondly we don't allow takaways in the rooms as in the past we've had spoilt... More
