My partner and I booked into this hotel for two nights for a relaxing break and some spa treatement given he had just come out of hospital and needed to relax somewhere nice. Upon arrival, the hotel from outside looked fine, but once inside it all changed. It is tired, very tired. The reception staff were dressed more for a... more

Great setting, lovely views.....that's the good news. Rooms were awful. Had to change rooms twice, noisy boilers rattling away through the night, cramped, grubby bathrooms, tiny wardrobes, cold showers, unreliable supply of hot water, cracked windows. Mattress worn out, no padding over springs. Creaky floors, rattling lights and ceilings, worn out carpets. Kettle balanced on a tiny shelf. Food indifferent.....all... more

We stayed in the Runneymede Suite which had very little natural light, smelt of damp and was rundown. The carpets were old, the double bed was two singles strapped together and the bathroom was grotty. The whole hotel needs a facelift. more

Don't stay in the apartments, when I was told they had been cleaned, they hadn't been cleaned properly it was horrible. The rooms are dark and dated. I've never stayed there but having worked there I would say don't. However the bridal suite is nice..! more

I wanted to share our wonderful experience at The Bishops Court Hotel the staff really made our stay so memorable, and that we will defiantly be going back, as well as recommending the hotel to all of our friends. I booked 2 suites, Runnymede & Sonning to celebrate my parents golden wedding anniversary, and from the moment we were checked... more

We visited for a two night break as we were attending a function at the hotel on the Saturday night. I must say that we visited with some trepidation having read the reviews on this website. We were pleasantly surprised - the outside of the hotel looked most imposing and the sweeping staircase from reception was impressive. The reception staff... more

Think Faulty Towers............this was worse. Arrived at reception where the receptionist was dealing with a complaint on the phone - a customer had been charged twice for their room. When she became free, she did not have our reservation. We were eventually given a room, and my parents reservation was found. Their room was unmade when they went in...there were... more

Oh dear... Where to start...I know..Reception. We were greeted with the fact that despite their website advertising entertainment, there wouldn’t be any all week, on account that there was a very low number of guests staying that week. Only 14 rooms booked that week despite them telling us they were almost fully booked when we enquired. Having quelled our disappointment,... more

My girlfriend and i stayed at the Bishops Court Apartments for a week. We didnt book our break for comfort in particular just to have some time on our own without much care for service or surroundings. But when you pay for self catering apartments you come to expect a certain level of cleanliness & Service however basic! The Bishops... more
