The reception reeks of damp from water damage streaking the walls. The framed prints on the wall are black with mould. I sympathise with the owner about the misfortune of storm damage, however the damage should have been dealt with immediately in readiness for the high season. It was a shocking first impression. Parking behind the hotel is restricted to... More

The hotel/guesthouse is nothing short of what I came to expect when booking. The room was everything we needed, basic but adequate. It was clean and daily service was helpful, would come back every day to a made bed and fresh amenities . Word of advice for others booking in the summer - bring a fan for the rooms as... More

Arrived on a Friday for a 2 night stay. We was upgraded to a balcony room for free which was nice apart from the balcony was dirty and full of cobwebs, not to mention we have cobwebs in our room and had to kill 4 spiders in our room! The curtain roll pole was hanging off the wall. The shower... More

Arived at The Hudson and first impression was not a good one, the reception area smelt of damp and one wall was covered in water marks where there had been a leak. The Garden room was down the stairs just of reception. The room also smelt damp, We have never stayed in a room so dirty dust and cobwebs everywhere. The... More

I am most surprised to hear the customers comments relateing to reception area as the guest was made fully aware on arrival that there had been a major leak experienced during the extreeme weather conditions that took place in the early part of the year. Fortunately no other part of the hotel was effected. Arrangements are in hand to completely... More

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Hudson Hotel and would like to thank Brian for all his attention to detail that has made our stay so enjoyable. The location of the hotel could not have been better with such a short walk to and from town. We had a standard room which had two big... More

On arrival, the guest was up-graded from a single to DOUBLE ensuite room (AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO HIM), so as to make axis to his room an easier process. Its rather a pity this was not mentioned in his review. With regard to his main point, the guest states there is no handrail alongside the steps up to the... More

We walked in and Brian was there to meet us, the room was wonderful nicely decorated and furnished, had double doors that walked out to some beautiful plants and a fairly private table and chairs, i was really impressed, this was in June and going back again in October, great stay for couples or families, and the breakfast was so... Having recently enjoyed a weeks stay at the Hudson hotel, we found the owner to be extremely friendly and welcoming. It is so central to the harbour, bars and restaurants that we didn't need to use the car at all. The only problem was the fact that we thought we had booked a double room with balcony but apparently hadn't.... More
