My stay at "The Bahamas Hotel" was brilliant. The Hotel was clean, warm. The breakfast was really lovely, and the choice was good. The bar was open when I returned in the evening. The proprietors were really friendly and made everyone feel welcome. I would highly recommend this (and already have) to my family and friends. more

On our recent visit to The Bahamas Hotel we found it very enjoyable and great value for money. Situated a 5 minute walk from the beach it was in an ideal location. Staff and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend the hotel without hesitation. more

I am bewildered by the other ratings. The hosts were pleasant, the breakfast was an ordinary breakfast, but the room was just not up to standard. A glass door between the room and the toilet/shower !! never ever have I seen that, dirty carpet, uncontrollable TV. It just didnt do it for us at all - a tired and jaded... more

I'm amazed at the high ratings of this place! It is dated, shabby and the rooms are extremelly basic with no mod cons at all! I suppose I am not used to staying in b&b's and normally stay in hotels, but when I checked in here it was like stepping into a time warp. Desperately in need of of a... more

Just returned from Torquay after having spent a week there with my wife and 13 year old daughter. We booked the Bahamas Hotel which was centrally located in Avenue Road, a short 5 min walk from Torquay train station. The location was perfect, on the flat, no hills, as regular travellers to Torquay would know, nearly all of the hotels... more

The hotel is quietly situated off the main road with a good size parking area. It is a 10 minute walk to the town, but a pleasant one! The hotel is very clean and the owners are very welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and they are very genuine people. The decor is slightly dated but cosy, and... more

I was treated as a valued friend, nothing was too much trouble, food very good, rooms clean and tidy, plenty of parking, very good prices, has it's own bar, and a good bar/restaurant just down the road, I will use it again. more

I stayed here with some work mates and we enjoyed our stay here immensely, we arrived early and were made very welcome, our rooms were not ready because we arrived in the morning but John kindly allowed us to to leave our bags in the guest lounge whilst we went out for lunch and did a spot of shopping, our... more
