I came to Torquay to spend sometime with friends and chose the Somerville because of good reviews. I was not disappointed. On arriving I was given a warm welcome and found all the staff friendly and approachable throughout my stay. I was in room 4 which was more than adequate. The bed was comfortable and extra pillows were supplied. There... more

My partner & I stayed here as part of our short break honymoon, - We had travelled straight from our civil partnership. On arrival, Adam (I think) was very welcoming and gave us a guided tour of the hotel, the room was stunning. we had a suite (room 7) which had a fantastic little stting room and the bathroom was... more

This was my 6th stay at this hotel - I always drive out of my way to stay here when I'm working in the South-West. I'm always given the most wonderful welcome & when you've had a long day driving, there's nothing nicer. The hotel is beautifully decorated & all of the rooms have a real quality feel with luxurious... more

While Torquay itself seemed a bit tired, the Somerville was not. A lovely hotel with a gorgeous view of the town. The room was decorated in fabulous style (even the toilet tissue received special treatment). We missed breakfast, but were more than impressed by the freshly baked cookies and milk made available all day. Grant was a doll, offering us... more

Really enjoyed our 3 day stay at The Somerville, the staff were very welcoming, down to earth and informative, the decor is of a very high standard, cleanliness is superb and the full english breakfasts (vegetarian and normal) were lovely, as was the entire breakfast buffet. Its also located just a few minutes walk downhill to the harbour. Highly recommended!! more

I can not give The Somerville Hotel enough praise for their exeptional standard of service and cleanliness (it is unbeliveably spotless). The breakfast was superb (start with the museli it is out of this world and the full english is to die for). The staff were absolutely wonderful, extremely kind and incredibly helpful. The Somerville is in a brilliant location,... more

I cannot fault our 2 day stay at this beautiful hotel a couple of weeks ago. I'd say it is somewhere between a guest house and hotel, but definitely worthy of it's top rating. They serve a wonderful breakfast, with everything fresh for the wide continental section and every option for a cooked breakfast too, but no other meals/room service.... more

I stayed for one night with colleagues on business and I would definately use again for business or pleasure. The place was very clean and staff were efficient and friendly, allowing us to chat and prep for a meeting in the restaurant (with coffees) long after checkout time. more
