I am terribly sad to hear that that Bob and Pam are no longer running the hotel,in all dealings with them I found them to be extremely pleasant and very accommodating. I am sure the majority of guests who have stayed here feel the same ,they will be sadly missed and good luck to them in the future wherever they... More

Nice little hotel, had a two day trip with leisuretime. Good food (basic but well done with quality ingredients) friendly staff, cleanliness was good, nice new looking towels in the rooms. The only criticisms I could make are the decor is a little dated and it's a fair way the hill but a taxi from town was only £4. Not... More

Stayed here on a coach tour and found it was great value. Rooms were lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. Food was really good and service in restaurant and bar was excellent. Only down point was the squeaky floorboards.

We stayed for two nights on a Leisuretime bus trip. As I state in the title it is vfm as the £79 price included breakfast, dinner and bed. The first night I eagerly anticipated dinner, however my soup arrived with a hair in it..eww! The waitress was very obliging and replaced it, but this put me off the food unfortunately,... More

What a lovely welcome we had when we arrived. I was staying here on a 5 day David Urquhart holiday. Pam and Bob the owners were very nice and nothing was a bother. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Jackie our waitress. The food was served at the table not self service like so many hotels nowadays.... More

We had a short break at the Maycliffe hotel with Leisuretime and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts Pam and Bob were very welcoming and we couldn't fault our room (20) spotlessly clean if a little small but hey! how long do you spend in your room? The bed was very comfy, we had a television, tea and coffee making... More
