My husband and I attended a organised retired work do for a set luncheon. As I am a coeliac I rang ahead to be told this wasn't a problem. During the meal I was kept informed of what I could eat and the service was excellent, our waiter even made sure that there was no cross contamination with my vegetables.... More

We stayed here recently for a Naval reunion and the hospitality given was brilliant at all times. The room was comfortable and met our needs.. The barman was polite and efficient as were the restaurant staff ... The food was of excellent quality and every member of the staff worked hard and gave us their best...

We stayed here for a Naval reunion for the second time and again they have pulled the rabbit out the hat with a fine selection of good quality food extremely friendly staff. Rooms were clean, mattresses slightly on the old side but once you have sipped a few at the bar staring out at the English riveria it's all a... More

I stayed for a two day weekend in a wonderfully warm weekend in March, Everything about this sea front hotel is high quality and you could not want a more helpful and friendly staff, There is an excellent restaurant where I had both breafast and dinner. Both the food selections and quality as well as the service were great. There... More

Please note this is a review of the restaurant not the hotel as we live in Torquay, so only visited for lunch. My family went here for lunch and sat and over looked the sea, which was lovely. The waitress/waitor were really friendly and helpful, including putting tables and chairs together so we could all sit together. We ordered sandwiches... More

The decor and the staff's attention to detail made me feel as if I had been transported to a luxurious hotel a century ago. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The four course dinners were delicious and included vegetarian options. I enjoyed sitting by a roaring fire sipping coffee afterwards, too. The room was small, the bed a bit hard, and... More

We had a two night stay and apart from the hardest mattress we have ever slept on our stay was faultless. The service we received was exlemplery. The food was first class and both the room we stayed in and the hotel itself was spotless. We look forward to returning to the Livermead House Hotel ,where customers are treated to... More

We stayed here just before Christmas for one night and had lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The public areas of the hotel were nicely decorated and well maintained, but the bedroom was very basic. A hard lumpy mattress, no mirror over the dressing table, missing light bulbs, and a wardrobe door off its slider. On the other hand, for lunch and... More

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I have stayed in many hotels around the world - from 7* in Dubai to simple B&Bs and this was quite simply the worst place I have had to lay my head. The exterior is pretty with a blue plaque announcing that Charles Kingsley, author of The Water Babies used to live here. Everything... More
