We stayed here on a trip to Cornwall for a couple of night and had a most enjoyable stay. Craig made us very welcome with tea, maps and I formation on the local area. The hotel is an easy walk to the beach and the town but far enough away to be quiet. 100 percent recommended.

Friendly, easy-going owners, comfortable bedrooms, delicious breakfast, incredibly posh public areas, ample off-street parking.....the facilities could not be bettered. It is a fair wee walk from the centre though, which is ok at the start of the evening when you are heading downhill all the way, but coming back up the distance seems to double after a meal and a... I'll keep it short and sweet and state the facts. Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend in the last remaining smallest room. This room was still brilliant and big enough for 2 of us. Brilliant location. Brilliant staff. Brilliant breakfast. Very very clean. Amazing price. Would 100% recommend it and would definitely go back to this hotel. Just... More

We had an excellent welcome and most enjoyable stay at The Marstan in Torquay. Ian and Craig were helpful when giving us information about the local area and nothing was too much trouble. It is in ideal location for visiting other places in the area, by bus or by car. Our breakfasts were most enjoyable and cooked to order, so... More

We have just returned following a fantastic 5 night stay, hotel is the perfect place to stay in Torquay, the owners Ian and Craig were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was one of the best and was our treat to look forward to in the mornings. Hotel is in the perfect location and... More

We stayed here for one night in early September. We were greeted on our arrival by one of the owners and given some information about the hotel and local area. We were then shown to our room. The room was lovely with a very large bed and luxurious bedding. The room was very clean and comfortable. We went for dinner... More

Second visit - stayed here for three nights mid September. Just as delightful as last year. Lovely room, really quiet, freshly decorated. Breakfast remains a treat. Ian and Craig should be rightly proud of their establishment. Didn't move the car as the walk to the beach or to the town were at worst 15 minutes and (mentally if not physically)... More

We stayed for 3 nights and were very comfortable and we liked the owners who were personable and helpful. The hotel is located close to meadfoot beach (nice) and is a 10 minute, pleasant walk into town and this is ok and saves using your car. We stayed in one of the largest rooms, with a bay window and it... More

This is a great place, would highly recommend a stay here. Very high standard, extremely clean and lovingly cared for. We enjoyed the king room and a massive tasty breakfast every morning, tea etc in the room, big TV, large bathroom. Off road parking as well. Lovely quiet area of Torquay within easy walking distance of the town and Meadfoot... More

We stayed for 2 nights over the august bank holiday, staff were friendly, the room was big with a huge bed and a big bathroom nice and clean. The hotel had some nice period furniture and was well located ten minutes walk from the harbour and beach. The best thing in my opinion was the breakfast, there was a buffet... More
