Bless these guys we arrived needing to go to a wedding 15mins later, they helped us as much as possible, were very welcoming and friendly too! The rooms are lavishly decorated, and spacious, the lobby and breakfast room is beautiful too. My only gripe was the bedding. The first night I just couldn't sleep at all, the room was freezing... Having rushed off early to meet the AA man I was more upset re missing the fabulous breakfast with homemade granola than the fact we had to be recovered all the way back to the Midlands due to a problem with our car....... This independent guesthouse is worth every one of it's five stars from the friendly reception to the... More

This is our second visit to the Marstan and certainly won't be our last, we returned again, not only for the great room, delicious breakfast and lovely atmosphere but for the memories Ian and Craig left us with last year, we felt genuinely looked after and cared for in our stay...

We stayed at The Marstan for 3 nights and wish that it had been for longer. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and were given a complete run down on all the local restaurants by one of the owners, Craig, and also given some great ideas of where to go during the day. We... More

What a surprising little gem this hotel is. We were made to feel very welcome indeed. Lovely rooms and pleasant atmosphere. This is the place to be in Torquay. We would definitely come back. The breakfast is just what you need and do try the bar - it's an experience not to be missed. :)

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Taxis were called for us, whenever we wanted. Craig & Ian took a genuine interest in where we going/what we were doing and offered suggestions too. We had the premium room which lived up to photos and was spotlessly clean, as was the en-suite. We... More

Visited last week stayed for 2 nights, Very clean hotel, very peaceful stay, in fact we thought we were the only ones there until we went to the breakfast room and saw several others. The owners Ian and Craig are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, as a previous reviewer mentioned they gave us a list of good... More
