I have just finished a conference staying at the TLH in Torquay and have been extremely impressed by their customer service and friendly 'can do' attitude. They pulled out all the stops to make us feel welcome and valued and I figured a good way to say thank you to them is to write something here. The facilities are great,... more

My wife and I recently stayed at the Derwent in the last week of July. It was the first time we have been there but certainly will not be the last. The facilities were excellent with something for everyone of any age, the staff were extremely helpful and polite and could not do enough for you. The housekeeping staff kept... more

There was loads of stuff too doo with the arena games there was bowling an all sorts for the kids also the aztec pool was... more

I have stayed at this hotel with my husband and children, now aged 11 and 8 for the last 6 years (including a 2 night stay at the Toorak last weekend). The facilities and entertainment were what dragged us back year after year. However, last year I said on both my comment card and on here that things were sliding... more

We do have an ongoing rolling programme of refurbishment that uprgrades standards of property. Service standards are something key to our operation and we are reviewing this regularly to be able to put dips of standards right as quickly as...

Have just returned from our family hols with 2 adults and 2 kids (6yrs and 18months). Being more used to modern built chain hotels with their tiled floors and leather sofas; my first impression of the Derwent which is an old buliding with its big pattern carpets and 80's style wallpaper and furniture - was that of an OAP home.... more

From the start of the holiday all the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortably sized with more than enough storage space, en suite etc. All very nice, cleaned and made up everyday which was good. Swimming pools were fantastic and can be used as much as you like for nothing, including sauna, jacuzzi steam room... more

Currently staying at the Carlton because yet again we could not get the rooms we wanted at the Toorack. For the first three nights everything was fine with the service and food in the resturant then last night everything seemed to go to pot. Very slow service with long waits between courses and the food was of very poor quality... more

We encourage our guests to give us constructive feedback and we listen to what they tell us, in order for us to continually improve and develop the service and facilities we offer our guests. We aim to provide a good variety of fresh home cooked meals using good quality Westcountry ingredients. We also provide vegetarian options and an A la...

We stopped at the TLH in the Carlton Hotel for a family Birthday weekend break. 8 adults, a five year old and a two year old. Brief Summary: Rooms. Clean and spacious, we had a sea view. Yes there are stairs but get a grip, its 4 hotels together on a hill! Lifts work too! The bathroom was very clean... more

We stayed in the Victoria hotel as part of a dancing weekend break. It was a beginners' ballroom and latin weekend and we had a brilliant time. There are several ballrooms at this hotel complex and we were one of a number of dancing groups stayiing here. The hotel itself is a little dated, however it's inexpensive and the staff... more
