Initially disappointed when I realised I had booked this through lastminute.com's secret hotels and read the reviews. However, for the money I paid the room we got was excellent. We were in the 'Red' room, which was spacious, great natural light and views over the pool. The place was clean and tidy, the public areas are very nicely kept and... more

We were delighted to hold our Wedding Reception at the Gleneagles Hotel, Torquay. Sue and Trevor, with all their wonderful staff were attentive, professional, friendly and approachable. They listened to all our ideas and requests and created a perfect wedding party for us. We had many family and friends staying at the hotel (they filled in excess of 20 rooms)... more

Looking at the pictures on this site I obviously had a basic room! would check if you are here on leisure that you have a refurbished room. Found all staff very friendly, pleaseant location, great cooked to order breakfast. I had a basic room which was fine - most annoying had no bedside lights! more

From the moment we arrived, we were made very welcome, and we were absolutely delighted with our room, which overlooked Lyme Bay, where we sat out on the balcony morning and evening. The food was wonderful with such a variable choice and beautifully cooked and presented. We had a wonderful holiday and we would like to say thankyou to all... more

Visited this hotel recently for a short break having looked at images on website. Never again, Hotel has shiny, expensive-looking decor downstairs, however this markedly contrasts the rooms themselves. Would recommend you look at the images on this site before visiting. Felt that rooms are barely standard for 3* establishment. Adequate TV, 1980's kettle - no alarm clock. Bathroom was... more

We booked this hotel after a last minute change of plans and as such, didn't check out the reviews on here until after we'd booked, something I'd never do if going abroad. Having checked out the reviews here (and the hotels own website) I found out 2 things. 1 the hotel has been sujected to a major restoration, and in... more
