This gorgeous hotel is much nearer the central parts of England than Cornwall and it is handy for Exeter and Torquay, yet when you get there you feel to be in a different world - just the hotel, gardens, trees and the sea below. The lack of traffic or aircraft noise is very restful for city dwellers. Two things not... More

We ended up staying here by default when our accommodation elsewhere was double booked. And we really landed on our feet! This is a great little place with loads of character, lovely grounds, stunning views of the sea, delicious food - and most importantly of all, really helpful, smiley staff. We also had my cousin'ts two-year-old son and they were... More

A truly lovely place to stay. Excellent food (a very well deserved AA two rosettes) Excellent value for money. Excellent service You can always tell good restaurant service when the waitress/er is always looking round the guests' tables even when involved in a job of their own, which they leave immediately they spot a guest wanting their services and that... We have just arrived back from a weekend at the Orestone Manor. The staff are friendly, the views spectacular, the food great. I had fish both evenings, it was wonderful. I prefered the Hake to the Sea Bass but that's simply a mater of taste. We stayed in room 6, with views over the bay from the balcony. Huge room... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and chose it because of the very positive reviews. We stayed in Attic room 7 . Behind an unassuming door laid a beautifully appointed room and well worth the climb up the stairs. The sitting area just off the bed room overlooked the gardens and provided a wonderful view of the sea framed... More

My wife and I spent 4 excellent days at the end of June 2014 at The Orestone Manor, and we were really impressed by absolutely everything about this lovely hotel! We stayed in Room 6 (The Oriental Room), which was very spacious and comfortable with quality furniture and fabrics and a huge bed. Our balcony overlooked the car park and... More

We came upon Orestone Manor by chance when we were looking for somewhere for lunch. We were shown to the patio area where we could sit and look out over the gardens and to the sea. The staff were very attentive and polite. There was sufficient choice for all the tastes of our party and when the food arrived we... More

A super stay - old style service - courteous, efficient, attentive but not obtrusive. Nothing too much trouble. Huge room with equally huge bed (room 3) Lovely sea view from room and from terrace. Superb food both at breakfast and at dinner - we didn't want to leave ! Julian and Janet

We stayed with friends here in March 2014 for two birthday celebrations. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean we were right at the top of the hotel and my husband joked ( in the servants rooms !! ) which in fact I think they could of been at one time, as mentioned before the stairs...
