This was the first time I had been to this hotel. I usually stay on the other side of Torquay. On entering the hotel I wasn't happy that smokers stand right outside the main door to smoke, needs sorting out.. The reception was nice as were the staff, But once you get into the hotel,ie , the corridors, its all... More

I attended conferences in this hotel many times and stayed a few times too - so I feel quite affectionate towards the Palace. Its set in wonderful gardens with a walk down to the sea in a beautiful cove. Unfortunately it is looking a bit tired. My room was cold as the heating is not effective for the size of... More

just come back from a 3 night stay in this old but very regal hotel. Everything about it was impeccable. the staff (the receptionists, the porters. cleaners and restaurant staff) were most accomadating. Nothing at all was too much trouble. The food was to die for with everything piping hot and served up beautifully. We never thought that we would... More

Mega Hotel, massive building, full of old school charm, my room was huge, with separate bathroom & shower room, Staff are impeccable, well spoken, well dressed, and very friendly, POSH springs to mind! the building is well decorated, and very comfortable, good car park, very welcoming. the breakfast was probably the best i've ever had, (It's not every day, the... Stayed here mid November for three nights. Out of season so excellent deal. Upgraded to superior twin overlooking the gardens. Quiet. Large and comfortable even if the decor could do with a touch of tlc. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Dinner first class especially the sirloin one evening. Service is faultless. Breakfast excellent. Swimming pool very good. If you don't... More

We stayed 3 nights at this lovely hotel. It was a Jazz weekend so there was a party of around 150 guests. Right on the seafront in an elevated position with lovely views. Our room was large, and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and for once had soft pillows. we had plenty of towels and toiletries. Fresh bottle... More

Stayed two nights month ago. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Rooms reasonable size, some of them have been refurbished. Bathrooms could do with up-dating, especially the showers. Clean and comfortable, pillows very hard, beds quite soft, need new mattresses. Very small television, limited channels. Having said all that, it has an air of elegance down stairs in the reception rooms, high... More

A relatively late check in was handled well and given my key to room 343. A large single room (with single bed), old style TV with limited channels and very poor reception and old style bathroom with limited toileteries. My late supper ordered from room service was OK but that was all. Breakfast is where you see the lack of... More

Stayed here during a three day trip to celebrate birthday in June. The hotel is nice however looks from the website to be a luxury stay this would have been true had they not continued to use the 70's decor and facade. Pool facilities are good and lovely grounds. We did not stay in on an evening as not suited... More
