The room was very spacious. As the hotel is quite old, obviously the décor was looking a little tired. The dinner menu for the day was not available to see until at least 3 or 4pm. This did make things difficult because if you were out all day, you really wanted to know what was on offer before you left.... More

We have just returned from a night stay - booked on line as the pictures of the rooms looked beautiful. We booked an executive family room, on arrival we were given the key to room 301. We found hairs in the bath, on the linen and bedside cabinet and also in the fridge. The room was very run down. The... More

The reception staff were helpful, the area around the resturant , bar etc were nice. Upstairs the corridors were very worn.....why repair carpets with large pieces of black tape?? The room was adequate ( it was one of the cheapest) but clean and the bed confortable. Breakfast was especially good. We would return.

Our room was high up in a tower, with views from each window across from the sea to the station! It was a little confined but the character of the room made up for it, being quirky and an irregular shape. We ate in the hotel restaurant for each of the two nights we were there and the food was... Just returned from a weekend break in the Grand Hotel having been bounced out of the Imperial (overbooked despite booking several weeks ago poor show Imperial). Anyway their loss is the Grand’s gain. We were met on reception but two lovely staff Gareth O’Shea and Eva (didn’t catch her surname) who following our disappointment were keen to recover the situation... More

This hotel has a lovely outlook and is best seem in early evening with the art deco lighting Much of the lounge furniture is showing some wear. The hotel had no shower gel and ran out of baked beans granary bread and soya milk during our stay. . . These were eventually replaced . the outdoor pool was murky.

We stayed here last week with our daughters, aged 8 and 3, just for one night on our way to Weymouth. My husband and I were both taken on holidays to Torquay as children and neither of us had been back in over 35 years so we had rose tinted memories. We chose the hotel because it was a 4... More
