Very nice hotel in a lovely location , the building is very old so a bit dated ,but was very clean and bright. Food was excellent, service a bit slow on the Saturday evening and two of our three mornings the coffee pot was just warm, but was changed on request. Room was v good with sea view

Have just returned from a short break at this lovely old hotel. This was our first visit. We came with friends who have been many times before and thoroughly recommended it to us. However on this occasion it did not live up to its name. It is a great hotel with beautiful sea views and many period features. But the... More

We have just returned from The Grand, having spent the weekend there. The hotel is a grand old lady, rooms are a homage to the 1980s. We had a lovely big room with a balcony on the second floor. The pool area is also very tired, but the water was warm and the place was clean. We ate in the... More

This hotel is all show, certainly not worth the 4 stars it is awarded. I stayed over a weekend with my partner & mother, who is 80. I booked both rooms together and yet they put us on different floors. The parking facilities are very inadequate for a hotel of this size. It took us over 20 minutes to find... More

We stayed in the Prince William suite, the best room in the hotel. We had reservations for dinner on the first night at 7pm but on arrival told we couldn't be served until 8pm as they had taken a wedding party booking that night. The room was advertised as having a balcony. This was a small space with two chairs... More

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to write an honest review for your stay back in July 2014. Had a great time at this lovely old hotel. Apart from the really nice staff the hotel itself is full of character and in an ideal position. I agree with previous reviews that it is a bit tired in parts but that is it's charm. The public areas are lovely with gorgeous views across the bay. We had to move... More

We stayed at the Grand for two nights with friends and from the moment we arrived our stay was certainly grand. On arrival we were welcomed at reception with a very friendly and genuine greeting, our luggage was taken to our rooms and our car was parked by a charming valet. Although the hotel is a bit dated this did... More

We had a very enjoyable family weekend at The Grand Hotel. The food was excellent, and there was a lot of choice, both at breakfast and dinner. The majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a bit disappointed with our room . We paid extra for an Executive room, but in my opinion it was far... More
