What can I say...we've been coming to this lovely, clean, homely, hospitable, beautiful b&b for the past few years and can only say we need not go anywhere else when visiting this area. We travel loads but must say the welcome we receive from Dawn and our little buddy Oscar beats them all. We always look forward to seeing him... More

Booked Ashleigh house for 2 nights stay with our 3 children into a family room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Dawn was lovely and very friendly and our room was spotless and cleaned daily. Also Dawns dog Oscar is adorable, our children loved him. The breakfasts were great and Dawn even cooked the kids pancakes! When we are next... More

Booked here for a one night stop over in Torquay in December, cant fault the hospitality. We were greeted by the gorgoeus Oscar the dog and the lovely host Dawn who checked us in early and sorted us with a parking permit. The house is big and full of character, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was... More

I stayed here for a week in September with my partner and our dog. Our room was the family room which Dawn came in daily and cleaned. The breakfasts were absolutely brilliant. I'm really shocked about some of the recent reviews as yes the hotel is dog friendly but it certainly doesnt smell of dog and is always clean you... More

This bed & breakfast is a beautiful Victorian house that has a great location, truly within walking distance of Torquay's many shops, restaurants, and beaches. The experienced innkeeper Dawn provides her guests with delicious full English breakfasts, relevant local information, and friendly conversation, a pleasant start to a day of exploring this historic city, birthplace of Agatha Christie, whose museum... Lovely host/owner Dawn. Decor of house is superb. Breakfast was great. Room 6 was very nice. The shower was rubbish as was the token hairdrier. It's great for dog lovers as dogs are welcome, had I known that, we wouldn't have stayed, we didn't appreciate the owners dog in our room ! The latter is the only reason we wouldn't... More

I appreciate this lady taking the time to write a review and alerting me to some issues. Maintenance will be attended to during the winter months and everything will be back to full working order very soon. Ashleigh House is a pet friendly guest house and we have our own friendly pet in Oscar the spaniel. He and I greet... More

We stayed for a long weekend in October. When we arrived, we couldn't have received a more friendly welcome. It felt like visiting one of our family's home! The house is a beautiful Victorian building and so quaint and homely. Our family room had ample space and excellent facilities and was very clean. Dawn, the owner, couldn't do enough for... More

A fab weekend for my husband, myself and our dog, spent with Dawn and her Springer, Oscar at Ashleigh House whilst visiting family in Torquay. Dawn takes a great pride in her business, always making you feel like a friend, and nothing is too much trouble for her. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable and the variety of breakfasts... Hen weekend with 4 of my friends, the rest of my party stayed elsewhere in Torquay. House was big and slightly shabby and smelt strongly of dog. On being shown to our room the house dog was allowed to wander into our room and lie amongst our things which I found unacceptable. The beds were comfy and clean. No ensuite... More

I appreciate this reviewer bringing the problem with Oscar (the dog) to my attention. I welcome all constructive criticism as it helps me to improve the service and facilities that I offer. There have been a few comments regarding Oscar recently and I have now taken steps to ensure he cannot enter the dining room at all. With regard to... More
