This grand old lady ofTorquay - in a beautiful location on the outskirts of town - has fallen on hard times...... We stayed for two nights towards the end of August. Our room (218) was spacious, really a suite as we had a separate living room. But it was all very shabbily furnished (have seen better in charity shops) but... More

It was my husbands birthday and just a horrible experience!! The room we were put in was cramped, not quite clean and set up for one person. When mentioned at reception, I was basically ignored. They had no interest. It was never rectified so my husband and I couldn't sit out on the balcony, have a cup of tea together... More

we have just spent a week at the hotel ,and firstly was disappointed to find out our sea views were restricted by the balcony doors being locked due to maintenance ,we had lots of trouble parking as we have a disabled son and the disabled places were taken all the time and we reported it constantly but to no avail... We arrived ( 13 of us ) Sunday 24th August for a hen do. Cutting a long story short, 2 members of staff/therapists had phoned in sick & this caused massive problems. Our treatments we're cut to 15 minutes each instead of half hour each & so this caused almost half our group to pull out to save more problems.... More

Good Lord I have stayed in many hotels around the world, for work and pleasure, this is officially the worst. It is SO bad that we only had to pay for 1 of 3 nights here. I don't even know where to begin. The first night we had rude staff, not enough staff on the bar and a fight breaking... More

We've stayed at the Imperial a few times now .... & we love it but its let down by many little & not so little niggles.............One example. On our last evening of four, we went into the bar( the only bar) & ordered some drinks, one of which was a glass of wine. The pleasant barman informed me that I could... More

Had a great week here. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms need a little updating, but the balcony and the view made up for that. Breakfast had a wide selection, and was open till 10.30, which is great when on holiday, you can have a little sleep in. Only negative I can give is the 7 pound a night for parking... More

We took our grand-daughter for a week's holiday and, had expected a family room with one double bed and a single bed. On opening the door, we were presented with a corridor with three rooms off it; one king-sized room, one double bedroom and a spacious, modern bathroom. Although we overlooked the front of the hotel, it was quiet and... More

Amazing Views, Lovely clean room, Friendly Staff. However: Pool was tiny and overcrowded unable to use Sauna or Steam Room due to CHILDREN using them, Couldn't get a swim as overcrowded. Pool far too hot & water dirty looking. I am an ex-Lifeguard so I know what I am talking about. My main reason we selected this Hotel was it... More

It's not cheap to stay here and this is the basis of my review, value for money. If you're looking for great views and location and money is no objects vs standards this hotel is for you. If you are also bothered about friendliness, good customer service, efficiency and be treated as an individual then don't go here. You will... More
