I love staying at the Imperial, we found the room (with balcony overlooking the sea - gorgeous!) to be comfortable and clean, albeit a little on the dated side. The service is always very helpful and friendly and the breakfast offers a good size selection which is always topped up nicely and very tasty. However, there are a few little... More

Welcome, if it can be called that was bored and laboured. Much better welcome at a Premier Inn in Leicester the night after. Like an earlier review the extra £7 for car parking (£15 if undercover, yes really) was gouging. Room, a little tired and musty smelling. Bathroom, upgrade needed, cracked sink, chipped bath and shower curtains are not really... More

Had a wonderful stay, excellent location, friendly staff, food was lovely, a big room a massive bed and best of all a view to die for. We didn't draw our curtains so we could wake up and enjoy the view . It rained most of the time we were there but still came back feeling refreshed. The only thing I can say... More

Mary and I had been invited to an evening function to see the Red Arrows display team. On arrival we were shown to our reserved parking space then into the hotel foyer, with an honour guard of air cadets. David Black met us and escorted us to a lounge for drinks and canapes. The weather had closed in and the display... More

The hotel is in a great location in Torquay (if you don't mind a bit of a hill!!). The room was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was also great (I really don't like buffets at the best of times, but the food was really good and as good as someone had cooked it for you... More

This grand old lady ofTorquay - in a beautiful location on the outskirts of town - has fallen on hard times...... We stayed for two nights towards the end of August. Our room (218) was spacious, really a suite as we had a separate living room. But it was all very shabbily furnished (have seen better in charity shops) but... More

It was my husbands birthday and just a horrible experience!! The room we were put in was cramped, not quite clean and set up for one person. When mentioned at reception, I was basically ignored. They had no interest. It was never rectified so my husband and I couldn't sit out on the balcony, have a cup of tea together... More

I stayed at the Imperial in August, this hotel has an amazing aspect with stunning sea views. What has gone, so wrong? Terrible service. Swimming pool and spa a total disgrace, dirty, unsafe, no keys for lockers, stunk of urine! What a shame, what has gone so wrong?
