We were a bit apprehensive after reading all the negative reviews but were very pleasantly surprised . Room 47 had wallpaper peeling off the wall, the washbasin in the room next to the window that looked out directly onto the fire escape that was covered in local bird muck. There was a bird’s nest close by with seagulls and gannets making an awful noise all the time. If you breathed on the window it would fall out.... more

well where can i start, the hotel room was dirty and smelly and when it rained the roof leaked in, another dissapointment was that the food did not cater for everyone for example there was no chips, if i was you id avoid this hotel!. more

just returned from a 2 day break to this hotel well what can i say within 5 minutes of being here we asked to change rooms, room 58 was awful it was dirty and smelly could not see out of the windows for dirt on the inside and the outside. cobwebs in the bathroom complete with spiders and very grubby... more

reception leaves a lot to be desired after a long ride on a coach dining area in basement is hot and dangerous it doubles as entertainment room after dinner. small bar down there but a nicer bar upstairs in a airy room is closed from lack of staff.had to go out every evening.or walk up and downstairs for each drink... more

We arrived for a christmas break at the Sherwood. The hotel looks nice from the gardens, but there are a lot of steps at the front which are difficult if you arent very agile. This hotel has a good location about 200 yards from the seafront and good access to restaurants and shops. We are a couple in our early thirties and we paid only 58 pounds for a night which we thought was pretty okay for the summer high season.
