This is our 2nd visit and we plan to return next year. Excellent location. Excellent breakfast. Good free WiFi.Stuart and Sue run a very efficient service, which meant everything was available for our needs. Stuart very good at carrying your suit case from the car. Just returned today, looking at dates for 2016.

There is nothing bad to say about this place, Stuart and Sue run a clean, tidy, comfortable and welcoming hotel. The food was lovely and plentiful. The rooms were clean and comfy. Our bed mad a sproinging noise occasionally but it did not lack comfort. Definitely the place to stay if you want friendly kind and caring hosts. We will... More

Fresh clean room (10), bed comfortable (8) although the mattress springs 'boing' with sudden movement - does not mean you can feel the springs. Shower is good, roomy enough. Good supply of Tea and coffee makings in the room. Excellent WiFi in all areas. The double glazed sliding windows shut any outside noise off quite effectively, not that the area... More

Lovely and clean. Nice people. Breakfast nice but too early....start at 8.30 and finish at 9. Says free wifi but there was none. Short walk to the front and in a quiet area. Decent size on-suite with toiletries added in.

Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are sorry that you felt breakfast was too early for you however we have found over the years that this time does suit most of our guests and as we are only a small B&B with 5 rooms it means that most people are... More

We have stayed several times at this lovely B&B and it was a pleasure to return over a long weekend. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and there is a good supply of tea, coffee & biscuits in the room. Breakfast, as always, was excellent! Sue & Stewart informed us on what was going on in the area over the... More

We have stayed at the Gainsboro before and again Sue and Stuart made us feel very welcome. Our room was very clean and comfortable with complimentary tea, coffee with biscuits. The breakfast was delicious with a great choice. The house is very convenient near to the train station and sea front with just a short stroll to the town centre.... More

Sue and Stuart make you feel very welcome and are so helpful in giving tourist info. The house is so close to the sea front but also in a quiet area. Rooms, lounge and dining room very clean and the beds are very comfy. Breakfast is delicious. With the lovely sunshine we had this weekend it was relaxing to sit... More

We stayed for the second time in the family suite at the Gainsboro for a seven night stay and once again the experience was first class. The family suite is ideal as the boys (aged 13 and 15) have a room of their own with a connecting door to our room. Stuart and Sue made sure every aspect of our... More

We made a late decision to take a weekend break in Torquay and spotted the Gainsboro. Sue and Stuart gave us a warm and friendly reception on arrival and after we had booked in Stuart carried our suitcase up to our room. Our room was very clean and the decor was lovely, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were provided, the... More

We stayed here for a long weekend in June and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Nice, clean rooms (with complementary tea and biscuits !), and a top notch breakfast with lots of choice ! The centre of Torquay is a short, pleasant walk away; a very convenient location close to the train station to. Sue &... More
