We stayed for the second time in the family suite at the Gainsboro for a seven night stay and once again the experience was first class. The family suite is ideal as the boys (aged 13 and 15) have a room of their own with a connecting door to our room. Stuart and Sue made sure every aspect of our... More

We made a late decision to take a weekend break in Torquay and spotted the Gainsboro. Sue and Stuart gave us a warm and friendly reception on arrival and after we had booked in Stuart carried our suitcase up to our room. Our room was very clean and the decor was lovely, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were provided, the... More

Nice, clean rooms (with complementary tea and biscuits !), and a top notch breakfast with lots of choice ! The centre of Torquay is a short, pleasant walk away; a very convenient location close to the train station to. Sue &... More

We stayed for a weekend and were delighted to find a very friendly and helpful welcome from both Sue and Stuart, impeccably clean room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, with peace and quiet in a convenient location just a few minutes walk away from the beach and town center and off-street parking. Our trip was part business, part pleasure whilst addressing... More

We have stayed at the Gainsboro a few times before but did not visit last year. We thought that we would make the most of the good weather and booked a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Sue and Stuart have improved the decorating in some rooms since our last visit and the previous great service has not changed. The rooms... More

We stayed at the Gainsboro on Saturday 31st May until Monday 2nd June having decided to take a last minute break to Torquay. The Guest House is well located for the train station and is less than 5 minutes walk to the sea front and 20 minutes gentle stroll into the town centre, unless you stop off for a tea/coffee... More

We went to the Gainsboro for a weekend away on the recommendation of a member of my family & we're very glad we did. As soon as we arrived we felt very welcomed by Sue & Stuart.
