If you are expecting the Elmington to be a hotel, then think again! It is, in fact, a first class guest house where the owner, Filipino-born Lisa, treats everyone like a member of the family. Initially we were disappointed because Booking.Com advertised it as a hotel, with all rooms en-suite, a heated pool, and an Oriental restaurant. My mother-in-law's singe... More

Came for a one day conference and stayed a week. Very handy for railway. Liza is an excellent hostess. Very friendly and helpful. Room serviced daily and kept very clean. Fresh towels every couple of days. Full English breakfast sufficient to keep you going until night. Very quiet location with garden/sea views.

We had stayed at another Guest house and had a terrible experience. It was such a relief to be met by a very charming hostess. We were up graded to a lovely large room with a very pleasant out look. The breakfast was very nice. There was plenty of parking.

We visited Torquay in october 2013. Elmington hotel situated on the hill near Torquay railroad station (2 minutes by walk). But trains were almost inaudible! Seaside and Torquay main beach are in 10 minutes by walk. Hotel has not real seaview - the thin water strip only! So if you like to listen to waves - you'd better look for... More

We needed a hotel convenient to Torquay Rail Station and the Elmington Hotel filled the bill in every respect. A cosy room, tasty breakfasts and a very warm welcome from the lovely Liza (yes, 'z') were just what we needed as we were in town for a funeral. It would be nice to come back 'in season' so that we... More
