We use for our trips to Plymouth for shopping and the theatre. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always to a good standard. Although book-in is not until 14.30 we were told that we could park our car there if we arrived earlier and this does cut out paking costs in the city.

We stopped overnight at The Drake when attending the Pavilions theatre, the room was very spacious, the bed was massive and very comfortable, the shower was to die for, the breakfast was delicious with generous servings, it was hard to find anything to complain about, we would stay there again before consulting anyplace else in Plymouth.

Travelling 300miles from Suffolk to Plymouth on a Friday in torrential downpours, getting stuck in traffic on the A12 and M25 made for a challenging journey, on phoning to inform Nicki that we may be late we were told that if we did not arrive by 10.30pm we would have to find alternative accommodation AND still pay for the two... Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It may not have made particularly good reading but I appreciate that all reviews on Tripadvisor are subjective. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us and that my frankness was interpreted as rudeness. However, I am glad that I am able to respond to the... More

Stayed in Plymouth for just one night whilst on business. Booked direct with the hotel and got a better deal than any of the comparison sites. The hosts Nicki and Augustis made me feel genuinely welcome and Nicki was really helpful with tips on where to eat etc in the evening. I think when a couple run their own property... More

We stayed here for one night while moving our daughter into her University halls. After a long, miserable journey we were welcomed at the door by Nickie who checked us in and showed us to our rooms. We had booked a single for our daughter but she was given a double as it was next to ours, a very thoughtful... More

The hotel is a short walk to the Hoe, the city centre, and the Barbican. Yet it's not noisy. The hosts are very welcoming, with nothing too much trouble. The breakfasts are excellent. The rooms comfortable with everything you need. My only concern is that the parking in Plymouth is not great, so you may need to arrive mid/late afternoon... More

Good find this hotel. We stayed upstairs in the old servants quarters in a great room. No lifts - but not a proble for us. Breakfast was good, with a wide selection. Our hostess was most welcoming and had plenty of suggestions of places to visit. We were staying because we were visiting a local restaurant and then moving on... More

We stayed here for a night before catching the ferry to Spain and another night on out return. They were very friendly and helpful. We were on a motorbike tour for the days in between these dates and we decided we needed to leave a tank bag of thngs we didn't need, which they were very happy to store for... More

The hotel was in a central location on the Hoe very close to the town centre In the mornings we particularly enjoyed the wonderfully presented breakfast, cooked by Augustis and served beautifully by Nicki. My husband and I made good use of the elegantly styled lounge area with large tv and comfortable sofas, Our spotless bedroom was lovely, large and... More
