We have just returned from an overnight stay at The Drake, ideally situated for our visit to Plymouth Pavilions and also for a wonderful walk across the Hoe and along to the fascinating Barbican area where we ate the best fish and chips imaginable. The views across Plymouth Sound and Sutton Harbour are stunning. We received a warm welcome at... More

The hotel is fine and the room we had was huge by comparison to others we have stayed in. The breakfast is standard and the owners helpful. The rating of very good could be excellent except for a few things. We were greeted by the wife and were sensitive to the possible negative demeanor, having read other guests comments. She... More

Stayed here for one night. Well located hotel close to The Barbican and The Hoe. Parking is available on the forecourt and at the rear. Room was clean and well furnished, but a little on the small side. Only problem was our neighbours, who were very loud and left there television on until 2.00am. Walls appear rather thin and need... I've just had a three week stay at the Drake and i highly recommend it, not only is it in the perfect location for the city centre (1min walk) and the beautiful Ho (1min walk) but its spotlessly clean and the amenities are topped up everyday. As a working man the breakfast is very important and this breakfast didn't dissappoint... More

From an excellent central location for exploring Plymouth the Drake offers nice clean accommodation and a good breakfast to set you off. I found the owners to be hospitable and friendly. This hotel is recommended.

On arrival, early evening, we were 'greeted', by the female owner, in the most unwelcome, frosty manner we have ever experienced in all our years as guests at very many hotels and guesthouses. We were shown to our room, up 2 flights of stairs. The room was very large, clean and comfortable, with tea/coffee making facilities. The electric shower, unfortunately,... More
