We stayed at the Dudley in late june 2009. This is not a five star hotel but then we didn't pay five star prices which would be at least double but possibly more. There are some aspects that need updating, hall carpet, ensuites are dated but hey you pay for what you get and this is great value for money.... more

I am a student and needed somewhere to stay for an overnight trip while i looked around the university for starting in September. It was my first trip away from home 98 miles away so i was thrilled at my stay at this hotel...the location was perfect for getting to the university and great for getting some shopping done in... more

Let's get the faults out of the way first - I couldn't get the TV to work, not that I was bothered and I'm sure Lewis, the exceptionally friendly and helpful young manager would have sorted it for me had I asked. Also if you like a powerful shower, you may be disappointed. OK they are trivial points and the... more

This is an old house B&B just ten minute walk downhill to the train station, longer uphill and you need to study map very carefully to find it although it's on a straight line from the station. House and rooms are immaculate, comfortable, large enough. It's run in the spirit of being a good hotel vs. just to make money.... more

extremly happy with our stay. Stayed for three nights over the bank holiday weekend and it was just excellent. We stayed in room 6 and it was a cosy and beautiful, perfect for two people. Ignore the comment made below about room 6 as it was nothing as they have described, it was a nasty uncalled for comment to be honest.... more

We have just returned from a one night stay at the Dudley Hotel which was booked on the basis of recommendations from Tripadvisor. The service we received was second to none with particular thanks to Ed's very warm welcome which included a cuppa and also the use of his laptop! This was the best guest house accommodation we have stayed... more

This hotel was all and more than we expected. The location was perfect within easy distance to the railway station and town center. The food was excellent all prepared freshly at the hotel by Lewis, who was an excellent host in every way possible. He was always there to answer all our questions and made our visit extremeley pleasurable. Highly... more

I stayed at the Dudley in December 2008. The hotel is in a very convenient location both for the railway station and the town center - it only takes a few minutes to walk to either. The manager - Lewis - couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. He was at the ready to take care of any request, no... more

The Dudley is a small hotel but has everything that one might need. Delicious breakfasts with local produce, free wifi internet access throughout the hotel, great service, nice little lounge. There is no bar due the size of the hotel but the manager is happy to provide ice and glasses if you fancy a BYO drink. My only complaints were... more

Stayed here for one night on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is tastefully decorated and clean. Our twin room had lovely high ceilings and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was a lot a choice on the cooked breakfast menu as well as cereals and juices and it set me up nicely for... more
