Stayed here for two nights (Sunday and Bank holiday Monday. Normally a room is £75 but we opted for the £90 room with a four-poster bed and jacuzzi bath.
Check-in was smooth and friendly; room allocated (Number 2) was very comfortable and traditional English country pub with good quality furniture and fittings. The bed was extremely comfortable. We decided to take advantage of the good weather and eat from the bar menu on one of the tables outside. The food was good quality pub fare edible but not over-exciting or ambitious in the culinary sense.
Breakfast offered a good choice, with traditional English breakfast, kippers or, as a tilt to Eurepean visitors, cold ham and tomato. The cooked English breakfast seemed locally sourced and of good quality. However breakfast is early, between 8.00 to 9.00, for folk who want to chill out and relax on holiday.
