all the staff were excellent . All meals evening and breakfast was 1st class! our courtyard room was good size and a good view over the grounds. the wedding arrangements at the hotel were spot on. we will go again to this hotel just for their hospitality at all times. plenty of car parking and signs for hotel.

Very average and expensive. I was told that i had to book for two nights when i only wanted one. We gave the second night to some friends and then i was informed that i only had to book for one, having given the second night away, i still had to pay for it! a simple phone call would have... More

Visiting friends in Plymouth but wanting to avoid the centre, we fell upon this charming hotel on the outskirts near the moor. Despite being built around an old country house, the rooms in the modern wing were of a very high standard. The staff were all friendly and efficient - and breakfast was very good. It was a brief stay... More

A truly exceptional venue which we will definitely both use again and recommend. Staff attitude and service was so high we didn't think we were in the UK while food and accommodation were also far higher than expectation. Given the 'Tudor' and heritage environment don't expect facilities/layout to be designed for ergonomics like a modern hotel, i.e. there are quite... More

Stayed 2 nights for a family wedding with our 2 children (1yr & 3yrs). In a huge Court Yard family room, spoilt for space. (Although had a flight of stairs to carry the buggy up & down). Besides being a stunning period property, what made our stay was the exceptional service we received from EVERY member of staff we came... More

Afternoon tea here continued the trail of the area I am taking with my mother in law and I can only hope the rest of our planned venues live up to today's experience it was wonderful! The service was friendly, attentive and thoughtful and the staff were very welcoming to our 20 month old, talking to her on arrival probably... More

We stayed for a weekend in one of the standard rooms. Its a very impressive grade 1 listed building....if you want history you wont find anything better. The only reason im giving it 4/5 rather than 5/5 is we thought some of the communal areas / gardens were tired / in need of maintenance and repair. They are building a... More

Stayed on a weekend evening recently and we were very pleasantly impressed with the location and the hotel itself. Its very attractive. We were notified a wedding would be on well in advance and though we could hear the distant music in our room, we were prepared for that and it didn't go on too long into the night. Fundamentally... Being an anniversary break amongst other things we decided to splash out. Our room itself was big and spacious, however the bathroom had quite a few issues. The bath had a big chip in, the wash basin was cracked, and the extraction fan did not work. Not good first impression. Pulling back the duvet and the cover had a hole... More
