I would like to be kind to this hotel, the views are fantastic, it could be great but it is not. Check in was cold and uncaring, the rooms very small, the carpet so filthy I didn't want to walk barefoot. The bathroom grubby and room furniture dated. Dubious stains on the walls around the bed, lining paper peeling from... more

I checked in and thought the friendly staff were joking about the walk to the 9th floor, they were not. The building is quite old, but has been re-furbished. The rooms on the 9th are great, with stunning views over the port and out to sea. The restaurant may benefit from a review of its menu, as it seemed a... more

Visiting family in Plymouth after 30 years away staying at a 3* hotel on the Hoe seemed a good idea. Paid top rate for a top floor executive suite. Checking in I was told "take the lift to the 8th floor and then you have to walk up the stairs to the executive suites"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! View was magnicicent, furniture a bit... more

This hotel has a splendid location overlooking Plymouth Hoe and out to sea. Our room was on the ground floor, but we could still see ships coming in, and moonlight on sea at night. You can walk right out of the hotel onto the cliff, admire the huge view, or walk down the steps to the seafront. It is about... more

I did not read any reviews about this hotel prior to booking it, we stayed here for a 3 night break. We had previously stayed in the Moat house (now Holiday Inn) but chose this because it was cheaper The hotel is in a prime position with fantastic views over the Hoe and the sea. The building itself is an... more

I have stayed at the hotel several times on business and found it a rather depressing experience. The whole place has a very run down feel and this extends to the outside where pieces of concrete are flaking off its ugly 19060's facade. The only thing in its favour are the views which as it stands right on the Hoe... more

I usually stay at the Holiday Inn in Plymouth, but found that standards had been going downhill. Well, come back Holiday Inn, all is forgiven. The Quality Inn was terrible. Room shoddy, spartan and not very clean. No obvious room service, no minibar, no internet - not much to cheer to up. Breakfast pretty unpleasant too. Not much I can... more
