This smartly renovated guest house proved to be an excellent choice for an overnight business trip. The bedroom was spacious and well furnished and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The manager Steve was very helpful sorting out cases, parking and recommendations for dinner. The owners Richard and Louise have obviously invested a lot of care and attention... more

I stayed for one night last week and I have to say the Imperial Hotel Plymouth is an absolute find. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels on business and pleasure and this is really one of my favourites. So much so that this is the first time I've ever bothered to write a review here (although I always read other... more

Stayed here on business for a single night, and was genuinely impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the relaxing atmosphere of the place. For the price the hotel is great value and really has many useful features (wireless, free parking) that other more mainstream hotels deem are extras and charge you for. Bed was comfortable and very clean,... more

An adequate hotel with most of the reviews which praise the Imperial to the hilt at odd with my experience so I can only conclude they must have been written by the owners. The Imperial is average and adequate - good location, clean rooms and bathroom, decent breakfast - but for £55 a night you can't expect any more. I... more

Stayed for one night at the Imperial, on the back of the very positive reviews on TA. The location is great. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, everything very fresh, with a very wide choice. The staff were very helpful and the whole place had a nice atmosphere. more

Breakfast was delicious with heaps of choice. The hotel is a... more

Really lovely hotel, spottlessly clean, newly refurbished with lovely modern interior design, friendly staff, great location near city center but quiet. We had a great family room with connecting room for children. Overall a great experience-the new owners really care and are putting a lot of effort into this place. Ignore any previous reviews over a couple of years old... more

As a family of five we find it very difficult booking hotels as most will only accommodate two adults and two children. As our children are young booking two rooms is not an option. The Imperial Hotel made us feel very welcome. They had a large family room with a separate children's bedroom. Accommodating three children was no problem. On... more

Please disregard all previous negative reviews as even Hyacinth Bouquet would be hard pushed to find fault here! We came, we saw, we stayed - again! More than happy to return to the Imperial. Now under the TLC of Louise and Richard who've clearly been as busy as beavers in the summer of 2007 with very sympathetic and tasteful refurbishments.... more

This is a very smart, cosy hotel, conveniently located in a quiet area between The Hoe and the shopping centre. The hotel is decorated and furnished in a pleasant and modern style throughout and looks clean and well cared for. Our room was very chic with a stylish new bathroom, quality bedding, flat panel TV with DVD player and tea-making... more
