Finding a hotel that would accept us and our 4 cats when we arrived in Plymouth after a long journey, was not easy. However, this was no issue with Jan, who accepted us with a welcoming heart, even when we arrived late in the evening after check-in closing time. The room was clean and comfortable, and a lovely cooked breakfast... More

I stayed at the Rusty Anchor with my family for two nights, as we had a family wedding to go to. We had a family room for 4, it was very clean and had an en-suite. Jan who runs it was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The full english breakfast was brilliant and unlimited toast I enjoyed! I... More

My parents in law, who are just arrived from China and my family (include my 4 years old daughter) have a one night stay at this Guest house. The location of this guest house is very good. We enjoyed a fantistic view of moon raising from the sea. We had two bedrooms, both of them are clean and tidy. My... More

Great B&B, especially because of the friendly and helpful owner, she even offered to drive us to the ferry as we were late when leaving! Comfortable room, child-friendly. Would like to come back someday!

I had the opportunity to stay at this lovely guest house for 7 nights during a conference based in Plymouth. I loved every moment of my stay here; the Rusty Anchor was clean, cozy, relaxing (there's was a nice sea breeze coming through my bedroom window), situated in a perfect location (by the seaside) and most importantly Jan was so... Stayed at Rusty Anchor for 3 nights as HMS Cumberland was finally coming home after being delayed twice. Had cancelled two previous bookings with Jan because of problems with the ship getting caught up in Libia and she couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The hotel is lovely and the breakfast is brilliant. We will definately go back. It... More

A group of us arrived here having waled 16 miles on the S W coast path. Having read the reviews, I was not expecting much but I was wrong. The landlady was very welcoming with a pot of tea brought immediately - one of only 2 out of 12 BBs on this trip that actually MADE us a cup of... More
