Wonderful location. Beautiful bed and breakfast. Great accommodations. She made each of us a delicious breakfast Great restaurant across the street called the waterfront. The owner is pleasant and wants to make sure your stay is good.

First impressions were mediocre. Landlady was busy with someone else, and a bit short when we arrived. Slight smell of cats pee in entrance hall (cat lives in house). Room was pleasant enough, had what we needed. Tea bags were a bit tasteless. Sea view from our room. Rooms were adjoined, with a double and a single (with a camping... More

From our initial telephone contact to checking out this place did not disappoint. We needed a family room that we could also have our two dogs in. The room was spotless, the beds comfy and the landlady jan was a great host and cooked a fab English breakfast! ( even the dogs got a sausage) My partners daughter has just... More

We were visiting family in Plymouth and needed a short notice B&B for 2 adults and our dog. We called a few but Jan, at the Rusty Anchor, was so friendly we made our choice without seeing it. We arrived to a very warm welcome and a very helpful host. Payment was sorted instantly and Jan also helped sort out... More

Our party of five, 2 teenagers, 2 adults and a dog stayed for one night. We found the room more than adequate, lovely quilts to snuggle up in. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Jan

Situated on the hoe 5 mins from pavilions & also handy for bars in union st & waterfront The landlady was very nice & as I left to early for breakfast left the dining rm door open for cereal etc if wanted. Unfortunately my travelling partner and myself didn't get to stay at the Rusty Anchor. WE were travelling back from London on coaches and hit horrible delays and both our phones died because we had to use them all day to supervise 14o students on a field trip. So i was unable to contact the B&B. As a result when we... More

The room was adequate and clean, the shower small but hot. No shower gels provided but for £85 a night, I was expecting a slap up, cooked breakfast and approached the nicely laid out room with enthusiasm. Jan, the landlady, was busy in the breakfast room serving a table of five. She brought us toast while we were waiting but... More

The guest house was excellent value for money. Booked one night stay with friends. The room itself was clean and tidy. Jen, the caretaker of the house was very helpful and cooked us breakfast and topped up without any hesitation. It is peaceful, easy to locate and is highly recommended for anyone staying in Plymouth.

My experience is very similar to a February review. I booked online and paid in full earlier this year for a twin and a single room for a one night stay in May as my companions and I travelled along the SW coast path. The day before I received a voicemail message from the landlady in which she said as... More

Apologies for the late response I'm sorry I was not there when you arrived, a family emergency....... I do ask all guests to be considerate of others when coming in late.......but I have no control on other peoples behaviours. I do ask if you had any problems, as they can be easily nipped in the bud.......I like to feel that... More
