Just a stone throw from Plymouth's historic sea-front, this BnB offers a nicer and better value alternative to the impersonal larger chain hotels. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well furnished, and the breakfast is fantastic. We are regular visitors to Plymouth, and have stayed in many establishments, but this is the best.

Two night stay for the fireworks. As the B&B car park was full we were escorted to a parking space nearby. The parking was paid for by the landlady. We were then shown our room and bought a pot of tea and biscuits. The room was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, large fluffy towels and a flat screen TV. On... More

My husband and I stayed in Poppys for two nights whilst we attended a wedding. After a very long drive, Diane was there to welcome us with her fantastic hospitality and cool drinks, she even helped to park our car. Our room was large and spotlessly clean with on-suite facilities. Breakfast was very nice (definitely try the Poppys big breakfast)... More

Stayed at Poppy's recently and a good place to be. The room was clean and tidy with everything I needed. The breakfast tasty and substantial. A traditional B&B which is not a bad thing at all and in a very convenient position within very easy walking distance of both the city centre and the waterfront.

This was a lovely place to stay in Plymouth. Warm welcome, comfortable room, good breakfast, in easy walking distance of the Hoe and the shopping centre. Poppy was endlessly helpful. The reasonable tariff is reflected in the fact that we met two other guests who stay there long term.

Excellent location on the hoe, lovely comfortable double bed and clean room, tea and biscuits :) Only negatives were that the wifi wasn't very reliable at all and the breakfast was too big and tasted like microwaved scrambled egg with cold toast but if you're after a breakfast that sets you up for the day then you'll be happy!

Thank you for your comments. Having checked with other guests, no problems were experienced with the wifi over the weekend., even with guests on the floor above yourself I certainly don't deny that problems can occur, this is a naval city and many guest houses do experience fluctuation in signal strength from time to time. Sadly this is a technical... More

We stayed at Poppy's Guest House for a week and could not fault it. Dianne was so helpful and kind from the moment we stepped through the door. Our room was thoroughly cleaned each day (tea, coffee and even biscuits topped up daily), the bed was comfy and the towels always fresh and fluffy. We were welcomed each morning into... More

Stayed for one night after a shopping trip in Plymouth. We were impressed with the warm welcome & found the room to be adequate for our needs. It was also great to have a parking permit which meant that we could leave our car & walk along The Hoe to The Barbican in the evening for a meal. The full... More

We came for one night and I would go again without hesitation. Diane (I think that's her name - sorry if I've got it wrong) was so so lovely and helpful. The rooms are clean, the bed comfy, the pillows good quality, the towels thick and gorgeous. And we were beautifully looked after when it came to parking. Thank you... More
