This was a lovely place to stay in Plymouth. Warm welcome, comfortable room, good breakfast, in easy walking distance of the Hoe and the shopping centre. Poppy was endlessly helpful. The reasonable tariff is reflected in the fact that we met two other guests who stay there long term.

Excellent location on the hoe, lovely comfortable double bed and clean room, tea and biscuits :) Only negatives were that the wifi wasn't very reliable at all and the breakfast was too big and tasted like microwaved scrambled egg with cold toast but if you're after a breakfast that sets you up for the day then you'll be happy!

Thank you for your comments. Having checked with other guests, no problems were experienced with the wifi over the weekend., even with guests on the floor above yourself I certainly don't deny that problems can occur, this is a naval city and many guest houses do experience fluctuation in signal strength from time to time. Sadly this is a technical... More

We stayed at Poppy's Guest House for a week and could not fault it. Dianne was so helpful and kind from the moment we stepped through the door. Our room was thoroughly cleaned each day (tea, coffee and even biscuits topped up daily), the bed was comfy and the towels always fresh and fluffy. We were welcomed each morning into... More

Stayed for one night after a shopping trip in Plymouth. We were impressed with the warm welcome & found the room to be adequate for our needs. It was also great to have a parking permit which meant that we could leave our car & walk along The Hoe to The Barbican in the evening for a meal. The full... More

We came for one night and I would go again without hesitation. Diane (I think that's her name - sorry if I've got it wrong) was so so lovely and helpful. The rooms are clean, the bed comfy, the pillows good quality, the towels thick and gorgeous. And we were beautifully looked after when it came to parking. Thank you... More

What a warm welcome, lovely lady, clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast. Close to the Hoe and Barbican. We really can not fault it. We visited our son who is living in Plymouth and we would definately stay again

We stayed here for five days and was just BRILL. We were made very welcome by Diane, nothing was a bother. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the linen smelt lovely. The breakfast is first class and sets you up for the day.(put on half a stone) Location is central for all amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Friendly, welcoming and genuine lady. Was able to cater for my dietary needs with ease (dairy and meat free). Bed was very comfortable, breakfast was one of the best we've experienced; even loaned us an umbrella! The location was very central - walking distance to central attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed seven nights and was made very welcome the food and accommodation was great and I would recommend this Guest House to anyone and it made up for the the very bad weather at that time. A most enjoyable break will definitely go back again.

I stayed overnight at this bed and breakfast in December 2013 and would fully recommend both the accommodation and the breakfast !! The location is very close to the Hoe, Barbican and harbour areas. The Guest House is easy to find, very presentable and has a small car park tucked away to the rear (it was quite tight for my... More
