As I regular visitor to Plymouth, I have stayed in a number of hotels and endured many varied experiences. After a poor experience on my last trip down, I researched my next trip via Trip Advisor. The Grosvenor was pretty much top on the list, so after reading a few reviews thought I'd give it a go. From the moment... more

Stayed here for two nights on business, but with two accompanying children. A great small hotel, friendly, ultra-clean, and with a five-star breakfast. The soft-boiled eggs were spot-on - very rare in a hotel. Undergoing a re-furb, and we stayed in a family room yet to be done, but it still quite adequate, and I look forward to returning to... more

I've stayed at this hotel on and off for the past 6 months on business. The owners Paul and Lindsay and their staff are exceedingly attentive and warm. The hotels location is superb, right on the Hoe and close to all the great restaurants and quaint little streets of the Barbican. The hotel itself is charming, and the bar/reception area... more

We had a fantastic time at The Grosvenor, the staff couldn't do more for us we felt completely at home, the rooms were clean and comfortable, loved the flat screen with all the cable channels. Just a stones throw from the Hoe which is just gorgeous, also a short walk to the City Centre and the Barbican. The newly refurb'd... more

We booked this hotel on the recommendation of a family member who was working locally and had spotted the hotel in the near vicinity. First impressions are often not misleading and the warm and friendly greeting we received upon our early arrival set the benchmark for a short but thoroughly enjoyable overnight stay. The hotel has obviously undergone heavy reinvestment... more

Very friendly owners and staff. Modern contemporary room. Very clean. Quality breakfast with attentive but not intrusive service. Located yards from seafront. Modernising hotel bar, but not an issue and look forward to seeing the result. Doubt if you would find a better hotel with friendlier staff and quality at this price. more

This hotel gives a lovely warm welcome and the staff are attentive to every need. The owners Paul and Lindsey clearly love being in the hotel business, connecting with new people and ensuring people's saty is enjoyable. I am looking forward to staying there again in the near future. This is THE hotel in Plymouth I would recommend to my... more

We stayed at the Grosvenor for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Paul and Lindsay, the new owners, were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Although the room we stayed in was fine as it was, Paul and Lindsay are going to refurbish the entire hotel, were putting in flatscreen teles when... more

This Hotel is lovely. Its warm immaculately clean and well heated. We originally booked the Astor across the road but we walked out because it was the pitts. The owners are super ,really helpful and friendly. We had a family room as all other rooms were booked and they very kindly did it for the same price as a normal... more

My wife and I stayed for 1 night 20/9/08 and did so after reading TripAdvisor reviews. The news is that 5 days before our arrival the hotel had been taken over by new owners!!! Paul and Lindsay (the owners) were working flat out trying to get the place into shape and not let down people who had made reservations under... more
