The hotel needs updating. The front desk and foyer is too small and the internal car park is a scratch waiting to happen; the narrow alleys, tight corners and some of the bays are very difficult to navigate; there are scratch marks everywhere providing clear proof of damage. In fact, I was there when a driver ahead of me suffered... More

Located right in the heart of Plymouth close to the shops, restaurant's & the Hoe. I have stayed here on many occasions and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. The Breakfast is great [one of the best hotel breakfast's I have had] and the evening meals are also quite good. The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful.

My family and I holiday in Cornwall every year and always stop in Plymouth for a few days on the way down. We have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions (I believe this was our 8th visit) as we have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the facilities are very good and the location... They put us on the ground floor family room it was dark and dull. The bed was very hard like sleeping on a piece of wood not suitable for someone who has back problems like me it was awful couldn't sleep properly. They told me that all the rooms have the same beds. The restaurants staff was rude didn't greet... More

We needed a large family room, and knew from the outset that we were just going to sleep in it, and then get out again - it was a stopping point for the ferry. It did its job well, the car park was easy, it was on our way to the port, and they were ready to help even though... More

Stayed here for 4 months on and off due to work. Very good location, close to the Barbican. Very helpful and polite staff. Very flexible. Stayed in every type of room they have to offer. Good choice of food. No Guinness which was the most disappointing bit. All rooms are spacious with nice views. I recall one of the rooms... More

Reviews below mention groups of Germans and other making the place busy. As the coach driver for one of these groups I realise it can be busy at times, but that is the possibility of any hotel with more than five or six bedrooms surely? My room on the sixth floor was big, clean and equipped as I would expect... More

I must start by saying the Holiday Inn deserves 3.5 stars. We chose to stay there for a weekend in Plymouth and the location is superb just off The Hoe and an easy walk to the city centre or the Barbican. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room (an Executive King) was enormous and comfortable with a great... More

So we live in Plymouth and in 2004 we had our wedding reception at the Holiday Inn (it was The Moat House back then) and for our tenth anniversary we wanted to go back and revisit some of the experience.
