Really, wifi is like hot water. Charging extra for it is a bit old fashioned, if not greedy, if youre charging £114 for a double Other than that, fine if beige. I give it beige plus. Great views from restaurant, but the curse of the beige hotel breakfasts: canned mushrooms (I think).

Stayed for a couple of days as part of a family wedding. Rooms nice and big if a little tired. Clean and quiet. Rooftop restaurant has spectacular views. Staff were superb throughout. Nice pool and health club. Would certainly recommend.

Searched Holiday Inn website for 1 room for 4 adults. Result was room a double and 2 singles for £85. Compared this with other hotels. Seemed a good deal. Went to book it but at the checkout they add £30 of extra charges for two of the adults!!! Airlines have been stopped from this misleading quoting practice. Beware of Holiday... More

....in only grading the hotel as Average, it probably just creeps into the Very Good category. This is to a large extent because of its location and the superb view from the breakfast room. It is tired, as others have observed, but at least - unlike some UK hotels - one gets provided with a flannel and a good supply... More

Always asking for a rate over £100 when the rooms and hotel are too dated to deserve it. The hotel dose have a great location and the views from the top floor are impressive. But there are hotels in Plymouth with just as good a location that are a lot more fairly priced.

One of the best hotel locations in Plymouth. Minutes to the hoe, shops and theatre. Very friendly staff. Large comfortable rooms. Ok - it may need a bit of an update, but don't let that stop you booking. If you're in a large vehicle - park in the outdoor car park as the inside one (under the hotel) is quite... More

It is an ok hotel. Rooms are spacious but a bit tired and worn. They appear to mainly have business and coach parties in. Avoid the coach party breakfast mayhem times. Food is average. What stands out are the views from some rooms and the top floor bar / restaurant. Staff friendly, parking a bit of a nightmare if in... More

Two night stay. Positives: excellent location, fantastic views from restaurant, friendly/helpful reception staff, nice breakfast (although would have preferred it to be automatically included like most hotels) Big room, clean bedding/towels. Negatives: very dated bathroom, needed a good bleaching, grout going black, smelly showercurtain, dirty bathroom door -looked like it hadn't ever been cleaned/looked at when shut. Didn't fancy a... Stayed here on business this week, great location for the Barbican and Hoe areas. Hotel is as expected for a holiday Inn, comfortable stay, staff are good, Pool is fab... Did not eat there apart from breakfast which was ok, only due to the choice of places near by which are fab like the Rockfish in Barbican. Many thanks

We booked for two nights at this hotel, and found it a central base to explore Plymouth. It looks a bit of a 1960’s tower block from the outside, but the rooms were very spacious and it was remarkably quiet at night. The bathroom was a little dated and tired and would benefit from an upgrade. We paid extra for... More
