Yes, it was clearly designed by a communist and yes, it's seen better days and yes, it needs some money spent on it - but the rooms are spotless and the staff are great (hence 4 green blobs instead of 3). Location is ok ish - 2 mins from train station - but it's a bit of a stretch to... More

The hotel had a very good location right in the city centre but it is quite dated. I hope the hotel gets the refurb it needs soon but it's a shame for such a nice hotel to just be left to get worse and worse. Friendly staff were the best thing the hotel to offer but personally I enjoyed my... More

We stayed here for a weekend break on a half price deal. The reception staff were very pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and clean but need some refurbishment. Plenty of choice at breakfast and the full English was cooked to order. A great location to explore Plymouth . Not sure I would recommend if having to pay full price but... More

Very pleasant staff but the rooms were very dated, very old fashioned bed, the TV packed up late at night and to top it all, the heating didn't work. After an awful nights sleep, the cooked breakfast was over-cooked and a total waste of the extra costs. The one good thing, was the price. Last minute.com managed to get a... More

Location fantastic for town centre and parking for us was ok. Staff very polite and helpful. Hotel in desperate need for a revamp as very tired and old fashioned. We managed to get our room when 50% sale was on so room good for the money. However at full price, we would not assess this as good value for money... More

Stayed for just one night, arriving later, so possibly didn't get the best impressions of the hotel, but here is my view anyway. Room - Reasonably comfortable bed, lighting in the room poor with dull yellow bulbs proliferating, partially illuminating the 80's decor. Bathroom much the same, but with a powerful shower. Public Areas - Depressing. Faded and chipped pictures... More

I have to agree with a lot of other reviews on here. The hotel is so tired it is in desperation of a complete re vamp. By decorating rooms as you go, has left you open to have negative reviews such as you have. Maybe closing it down and having a new grand opening would have saved your reputation..... Yes... More

Other reviewers are right to point out that this hotel is a little shabby around the edges, but the good staff service made up for that when I stayed. Parking was a little cramped on my visit - I ended up on the pavement - but I don't think they charged me for it in the end, which was very... More

There were two good things about this hotel: The staff. The ceiling fan in our room (Even though it was dated it was very much needed in this stuffy room) The worst thing about this hotel is it was just SO dated! Very 80's. The bed was a fold down one out of the wall and soooo small - almost... More
