Close to the centre of Plymouth we had an older room with a view over the entrance. The room had ceiling and desk fans but no air conditioning. it did not have a room safe or fridge. The WIFI was hopeless.

A lot of reviewers have said the hotel is tired. Its true that the furnishings are dated but that's part of the charm of this place. The receptionists, formal compared to what we often find nowadays, were smart and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable as was the bed. I slept very soundly which is unusual for me in... More

First of all I would like to make it clear I paid less than £65 per night for a double room on a weekend in the summer holidays - so this review rating takes into account the price paid. Rather than reviewing as if I paid £200 per night. Car park spacing is limited out front although was adequate just... More

We had a nice size room. WIFI costs 1.5 ponds but they let us have it free. It was warm while we there and there was no air conditioning. The room had an overhead fan and they gave us an oscillating fan, which helped. The room was pretty bare bones - no frig, no safe, no kleenex, etc. The bathroom... More

My companion and I booked a 2 night stay here over the back holiday weekend as it seemed to be the only hotel in the area that had vacancies that weekend. We unfortunately had the worst ever experience with parking charges and availability overseen by an unhelpful front of house. We were informed that parking charges were £7.50 per day... More

I was a bit worried having booked this hotel as it had some pretty awful reviews which i did not read till after I had booked. However, I am glad I did not read them first or I might not have booked and would have missed out on a lovely 4 night treat. The bed was very comfortable with extra... More

We stayed here July 16-19, 2014, just as the city was preparing for the Commonwealth games. The location next to the train station, games ticket office, and university, was fabulous. Our room was small on a hallway that was being recarpeted. There was a carpet glue smell throughout our stay. No air-conditioning which I guess is normally OK in Glasgow,... More

Not much I need to add to the previous comments on this hotel. Staff good and very good location (between railway and city centre) but definitely not a 4 star establishment, rooms and premises comparable to an old Travelodge. No problems with breakfast, but car park is overpriced, £7.50 a night.

We stayed 5 nights. I paid up front or I would have left after 2 nights. The hotel is tired looking and unwelcoming. The decor is very dated. Just a bit naff really. The reception staff were really good - helpful, efficient and friendly. Our room was ok but a bit gloomy. The very worst aspect of the stay was... More

Quite a drab looking building but situated well in the immediate City Centre. Very convenient for all the amenities of theatre, cinema, bars and major stores etc., £136.00 for a double without breakfast was quite expensive for an establishment without any great attraction. The bedroom & bathroom were clean as one would expect. No views to be had other than... More
