On arriving at the Riviera B & B on Sunday evening, I immediately realized that I had made a big mistake in making my reservation at what had clearly become a very run down property. My first impression was simply Yuk Yuk Yuk! I was shown to my room by the landlady, who did not invite me into her property... More

There was nothing good at all about our stay at the Riviera apart from the wifi. We stayed one night as part of a week's walking the SW coastal path. Our bags had been delivered earlier in the day but not taken to the room (everywhere else we stayed has taken the bags to the room prior to our arrival).... More

We fortunately only stayed one night..we were taken up 5 flights of stairs to a attic room that had seen far better days..the wallpaper was patched and dated.iv thrown better furniture away..the tv didnt work..there was very little milk and coffee which meant having to climb up and down the stairs to get more..the kettle looked like somthing my gran... This guest house is based near to the Plymouth Hoe. The guest house is quite large with 12 rooms. Our room was right at the top of the house, which was 6 flights of stairs. The last 2 flights are quite steep. Being pregnant and carrying a bag upstairs wasn't easy. Thankfully our room was clean and had an en-suite.... More

Got this right at the last minute having decided to stay in plymouth an extra night. The room was fine, tv worked, tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi. Only downside was the shower definitely lacked power, more of a dribble. Also we were on the top floor so we were quite exhausted by the time we got to... More

To be honest i would not have said very good however it definitley warranted more than average Great location, very close to the hoe. The room was nice, very clean and comfortable, though a bit dated. Good bathroom, good brakfast in the morning, The owners were pleasant and friendly. One word of advise rooms 8 to ten are on the... Stayed here during the British Firework Championships, and got a room for a very good price considering many other hotels were putting their prices up to a ridiculous level during the firework championships. The hotel is basic but comfortable. The welcome from the hosts was friendly. My room was not huge, and fairly sparsely furnished, but comfortable and clean enough... More

We had taken my elderly father down to my son's graduation on the Hoe. Dad is 83 and was given a single room on the first floor facing the road. It was OKish except for an elderly man the shower was in a cupboard with a step of about 18" to get into it, not the best for an elderly... More

We (elderly couple in the late 60s) stayed overnight at Riviera on 22 July 2011. Our arrival was warmly received but it turned out to be a great disappointment when we were guided to our room which was located at the attic. To reach the room we had to climb the steep steps as there is no elevator at the... More

The receptionists were kind and helpful. The room was small but it was enough for me. For continental Europeans : don't forget to bring a British plug adapter! The sink was not in the bathroom but next to the bed, which was a bit original. Apart from that, the room was well-equipped and very calm, for a pleasant night.
