Booked this hotel because of its location opposite the Plymouth Pavilions where we were going to show. Car park very tight but we did secure the last space. Reception was friendly and efficient. Room was clean but the view disappointing, overlooking the walkway to the car park and the extraction vents from the kitchen. There was dog ends outside the... More

I can only praise this hotel as at very short notice due to a serious family situation they did all they could to re-arrange our booking. I must also congratulate Best Western for the support they gave my husband and I. We look forward to visiting the hotel and thanking them personally.

Stayed 3 nights over Easter in our usual Superior room, no 104 above the entrance. Smooth check-in and off to our room. Room was as expected, very large and comfortable and with a small draught coming through the two large windows, but with the curtains pulled at night, this was not a problem. Three nights of very comfy sleep followed... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night in a 4 poster bedroom (£150 per night) Easy check in and the room was very large. Extractor fan in the bathroom not working and doors on the shower kept coming off their runners. Insufficient water pressure for the spa shower fitted in the room. Only single glazed windows (listed building)... More

Stayed over weekend, ideally located for City Centre, Room was clean, well appointed and newly decorated, although furnishings were old this was in keeping with the building. Staying at the Duke was like stepping back in history. Good breakfast. Parking available but get into the car park early. There is evening and overnight parking in the street to the side... More

This could be a fine elegant hotel. the public rooms are lovely, the staff friendly and breakfast reasonable value. My room was spacious and well furnished. However all of the sash windows have huge drafts and rattle noisily all night when the wind is up. The radiator in the large bathroom just could not keep pace and the room was... More

Thank you for your review. I'm delighted to hear that you found the public rooms, staff and breakfast to your liking. I'm sorry that you found the windows rattle in high winds and the shower too small in the large bathroom. I will be sure to pass on your comments. Thank you again and I hope we can welcome you...
