Our club went here for its annual Christmas lunch. They do not have a restaurant listing on TA. Not a bad effort on their part for £20 a head. Had a traditional meal which was comparable with most hotels, Hotels in general seem to have a problem catering for large parties, probably not enough kitchen staff. Serving staff were well... More

Compared to similar hotel's and restaurants the duke of Cornwall falls short, but thats not to say it's was less than very good. It was far better than any chain restaurant, and prices were similar. If your considering pizza express, prezzo, chiquitos etc this place is no more expensive but about 3 classes above in service and quality

From booking in to booking out, the service was excellent. Because of a spinal disability I am unable to carry my own cases but this was no problem. I mentioned it to the receptionist and a porter was immediately called. He escorted us to the car park and carried all the cases in and up to the room. This courtesy... More

Great value, well placed for Shows at the Pavilions, shopping in the City Centre, dining and sightseeing at the Barbican. Polite efficient staff. We ahve stayed here before for the reasons given above and will be doing so again very soon. My only small complaint is that the sash windows were rotten and let in quite a draught . Thankyou.

On arriving at the hotel I was impressed with the building and also the interior, with my first impression being that the Duke of Cornwall is a lovely hotel. The staff i encountered were all polite and friendly, although the young barman called me "bud" which is probably not very appropriate. On my one night stay the restaurant was closed due... More

Booked this on the passing out of my son at HMS Raleigh. Bed and breakfast accommodation of a double and twin room; both were very spacious, clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Everything we expected from a large, well established hotel. Would certainly book again if need to visit this part of the world.

Stayed here recently for two nights as we needed a central location in the city. Classic looking old and historic landmark hotel with very friendly reception staff who booked us in quickly and without a fuss. We were a little disappointed that the hotel car park isn't large enough which meant that we had to park our car in 'on-street'... More

Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel feels a bit tired and dated. Room was okay and spacious, but food wasn't good and breakfast was over cooked and cold. Staff were nice, but customer service was not great.
