Arrived late evening due to traffic problems which was no problem for our hosts. Location was ideally located to Torpoint ferry as we were going to HMS Raleigh. Fantastic breakfasts - lots of choice with nice touches, probably the best poached eggs on toast I have ever had! Room was immaculate, with en suite and was lovely and clean. Easy/plenty... More

The location was close to Torpoint, who I was visiting for a few days, after a serious illness. I loved the bedroom - it was simply, but tastefully, decorated, with lovely little touches. The dining room, also, was full of especially made craftwork. Everywhere I saw was light and homely. the outside garden was also a pleasure to a keen... More

We visited Plymouth for the fireworks competition and stayed at the Phantele. We were made most welcome. The room was comfortable and the downside was that there was no ensuite. Breakfast was well cooked and delicious.

I needed somewhere to stay on that "side of town" , so my son looked around and found a lovely family run guest house .The room was just right, with toilets on the same floor , a shower room and a bathroom (complete with a rubber ducky) available .Breakfast catered for all tastes, plenty to choose from .I would go... This is a great little B and B with very good hosts. If you ant to walk into the city centre it is not the closest but the atmosphere and decor especially in the breakfast room are a delight. ignore the rating on pool and fitness centre as i did not see or use them!

Cheap, comfortable and with good food. What more could you want? I was staying in plymouth for 2 weeks work at the dockyard and this B and B is very close by. The price was half what my company daily allowance is so I got a nice bonus as well as a great stay!

Just back from one night stay in the Phantele. Certainly very clean and rooms are decorated to a high standard and accommodating hosts. Bed was comfy, breakfast very nice and ample parking in streets nearby. In a nice Victorian styled area with a lovely park nearby that is worth a visit. Would use again if in Plymouth again, thank you.

Since Christmas 2013, the Phantele has undergone an update of its decor. This was evident immediately upon entering the premises: the carpets throughout the circulation areas are brand new and colourful tourist posters brighten the stairs. A tour of the rooms showed that the majority have been painted; some have new carpets and sink surrounds; and fresh decorator fabrics hang... More

Was visiting relatives down in Plymouth again , had no doubts where i wanted to stay. The welcome is warm , the rooms cosy and the food excellent. The couple that run it are just so very friendly and they just make you feel so very special , and welcome as soon as you walk through their front door. The... More
