We just finished a 2 night stay at this charming establishment. If you are looking for the big chain hotel experience, this is not for you. If you are looking for a small, welcoming inn with loads of character, welcome here. From our welcome at the front door, to a hot breakfast on our way out the door, I have... More

We returned to Millstones again, we have been staying there for around 4 years and rooms are always spotless and cosy. We were greeted with smiles and a warm reception, all staff very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, well cooked, not greasy, served in sunny conservatory overlooking lovely garden. We have family nearby and we will be returning... More

Lovely people and really great home cooked food, but otherwise the place is a bit tired. Some refurbishments have made a positive difference, but the tatty bits are still evident. The new double glazing does have an excellent effect on cutting out noise, but not should be noted it's on a busy main road. Not very "country".

A long time favourite of mine. A great little family run Hotel with nice rooms and a nice little cosy bar. Food is good and the dinners have some interesting choices, the breakfast is grease free. It has good carparking and is conveniently placed for Plymouth Airport, The new University and the Tavistock Road. About ten minutes into town but... More

Thought this might be a rural location, as it was originally so I'm told, but now surrounded by housing. On the main road, but although our room was at the front and we kept a small window open, we were not bothered by noise. House has a 1930s' look and there is plenty of parking. Slight 1980s' decor, but our... More

Unfortunately I can't be as positive as some of the preceeding reviews. The Millstones Country Hotel and Restaurant was much more like a B & B than a hotel and definitely past its prime. Our room faced on to the busy Tavistock road and was noisy, the room was very small, beds and mattresses were average ( not good )... More

Always stay here on business. Why? Staff are really so friendly and will do anything you need. I arrived late and the lovely lady on reception ironed my trousers, shirt and jumper for me for my meeting the next day. ( you don't get that at holiday inn!) Room was clean, comfy and quiet and the wifi in room works... More

Because this is not a big hotel, you are made to feel very welcome and a put at ease by friendly staff. The breakfast was very good and my children were delighted with ordering it the night before! The rooms were comfortable enough and at night, it was surprisingly quiet even though it was quite full. We were due to... More

Booked via an online booking firm. This hotel has a slight 1930's look to it and feels like a typical small English Hotel. The decor in the room was a little 1980's but everything was very clean and working. It faces the busy Plymouth - Tavistock road, so if you are at the front and open your window you can... More
