The staff were very friendly and helpful however, the food left a lot to be desired. When you're only paying £20 per couple, I'm not sure if much else can be expected. The meat we had was acceptable, but the roast potatoes were burnt beyond recognition We won't be visiting again

We stayed at the Travelodge next door, so this was an ideal place to go after a very long journey. We each had the carvery and ate everything on our plates. Everything in the food trays was fresh and quickly replenished on the evening we were there. There weren't many staff on; but boy did they work hard. I think... More

You either like a Toby roast or you don't. No great surprises, nice food, good value. I've knocked a star off because they clearly didn't have enough staff on this Saturday evening, a big queue at the bar and the waitresses were rushing around so much they couldn't give much service. Ok though

Went for meal here at 6pm, the vegetables looked like they were left over from lunch time, dried up and not a good impression, same for the mash potato. Meat was ok. Had to go and find a waitress to clear our table and order dessert, considering they weren't busy this is not acceptable. Also no ice for the drinks!!!... More

well we are regulars to this establishment once again only for a quick cheap meal due to having a busy day. Well I can say the staff are very friendly but the carvery can be a bit of a let down , the meat is very dry , the veg very dry with potatoes like rocks .It appears that not... More

Went for breakfast today 26th April, what a dissapointment, waited ages in the queue and when we got to the front virtually everything had gone only to be told they wasn't going to be topping the bins up because it was 10.30. Really hacked off that the coffee pots were removed at 10.50 even tho breakfast was served till 11.00.... More

Great value food. Lovely roast all u can eat except on meats which you only get one serving of. Apart from that you can go up and get more and more. Yorkshire puddings are my favourite they are massive. Can't go wrong for the price.

Me and my boyfriend arrived for a fried breakfast around 10am this morning. We paid for it at the bar along with unlimited tea, then we had to search for a table our selves (we weren't even shown to a table) there weren't many tables free which didn't help. Anyway that was nothing.... We cued for the all you can... More

Popped into The George for lunch with a friend and were seated quite quickly. We ordered our drinks then headed to get our roast on. 15 minutes later, my friend was so thirsty & we hadn't received our drinks she went to the bar, only to find them waiting on an ignored tray. Our lunch was very tasty and there... More
