Stayed here before my sons graduation. Life saver, lending me an iron and ironing board to iron son's new shirt!! Overall the landlady was as helpful as she could be in all manner of ways, from advise on where to eat, park, directions etc. She even let my elderly father use the double bed when we had just paid for... My mother and I were in Plymouth for her granddaughter's graduation ceremony. Paula gave us both spacious, comfortable, very clean rooms on the ground floor. The family were helpful and friendly, and did all that they could to ensure that our stay was a pleasant one. All in all it was very good value for money.

I stayed here for 2 nights - and would absolutely stay again. It is one of the most comfortable B & Bs I have stayed at - and better than most hotels. Everything was very clean. Beds very comfortable, bedding soft, coverings attractive. Shower/toilet/sink spotless. Breakfast very good. The lady in charge was very friendly and helpful, and very willing... More

We were on a quick stopover in Plymouth, so didn't arrive til late. Paula made us v welcome & we had a clean, comfortable double room at the back, with a compact ensuite & large fluffy towels. The Barbican is 15-20 mins walk away but there are also plenty of buses, a taxi back is about £6. Breakfast was freshly... More

I stayed here and compared to the other places that week - this was definitely the worst by far :( Plus sides - lady was nice enough and there is a wetherspoons 10mins up the road that actually serves hot meals. My room was a single twin with only one bed made up - luckily the one without the broken... More

Entitled is there a different Alma Lodge? We are beginning to think there must be. We were shocked and annoyed at the comments made by this customer. Firstly we have NO broken headboards whatsoever. Also our cooking is NOT deep fried. We grill all produce, except for mushrooms which are cooked in their own juices from a very expensive pan... More

Stayed one night 15.8.14. Spotlessly clean and comfy. Ensuite masquerading as a wardrobe certainly unusual from the outside but all worked very well, with big fluffy towels and good shower. Although on the dual carriageway, there was very little road noise - certainly not enough to disturb us. Good choice with fresh fruit and yoghurts available for breakfast as well... More

We only stayed for 1 night but would definitely stay again. Our room was really clean, the bed super comfy and breakfast really tasty! The owner is really friendly nothing is too much trouble! The bathroom in the wardrobe made us chuckle - great use of space!

Clean, comfortable and secure. Free parking, easy to find, pretty central and only a couple of minutes walk from the train station. Room was fully equipped. Landlady is very friendly and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating.

I stayed for one night with my girlfriend as we traveled Cornwall. The owner is incredibly friendly and the place is very clean and comfortable. The only downside was that it is not in the city center but it's at least walkable as long as the weather is decent (~15 minutes to the Hoe). The breakfast was very nice (full... More

Needed a place to stay whilst having a weekend in Plymouth, from the time we checked in at tea time until the moment we had to leave, my wife and I had been won over by the kindness and hospitality shown to us. The room (5) was comfortable and the en-suite was excellent, tea and coffee making facilities in the... More
