The proprietor is absolutely charming and trying very hard, which we greatly appreciated however the property needs some attention. The bed I had was so uncomfortable that I could feel every wooden slat through the thin "mattress". The bathroom warned of a hot towel rack, which was a ruse as it was stone cold the entire stay. Daily housekeeping was... More

This hotel was so relaxed and peaceful. We loved it. We were only there for a stopover - lots of guests seemed to be there for longer. Have been to Lynton out of season before, but it's character was retained even in high season. We were welcomed by the friendly owner who was around if needed, but not constantly buzzing... More

The hotel is getting in need of some redecorating. We arrived to a nice welcome and given a pleasant room. The shower was not working but we were warned before we took the room. Breakfast was great, all freshly made and of good quality. Staff were attentive. A little paint and tlc would make this a really good hotel.

A really relaxed and friendly hotel in a spectacular location.... an old building with the decor being slowly updated... 2 stars do not do it justice. I travel for business and often spend 4 nights a week in hotels.... i was more comfortable here than in some 4 star hotels. Look past the need for a lick of paint and... More

We booked a weekend away on an impulse and weren't disappointed. Staff were very friendly and the room was great. You'd be hard-pressed to find better views and it offers direct access to the coast path despite being a 5 minute walk (less even) from the centre of town. We'll be back.

Last minute, spontaneous booking on the way back to Bristol from Cornwall. Amusing to read some of the "complaints" in other reviews such as the limited parking - it's perched on a cliff, so space is de facto limited...also it's a Victorian building, so you shouldn't expect it to to look like an Identikit Premier Inn - the quirks are... Stayed here last year with my Mum and dog - Sophie. Just returned from another 3 night stay this year. Kate very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Caroline (staff) very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast - fruit salad - wow....! Booking again for September. Thanks Kate.

Simple and nice hotel for a short stay. It's a bit outdated, but it's very clean and has a spectacular sea view. The full English breakfast was delicious, very well prepared. Yes, it has a small car park. But, I could parked my SUV easy in spite of being the 6th car in the parking.

Just returned from an enjoyable break with a large group of walkers. We all found the hotel ideal for our purposes. All our rooms had wonderfull see views and were spotlessly clean. The excellent breakfast was served by efficient friendly staff. And special thanks to Kate who accomadated our needs so well.
