When we checked in the first thing that hit us was the smell of must and damp, but we put this behind us, as this is a dog friendly hotel and maybe that was the problem. The room was clean, but very very old fashioned. Our main problem was the TV (or lack of it). The brochure clearly describes a... more
The room was clean, but very old fashioned. Some of the furniture was shabby and the carpets were old and a bit stained. There was no central heating, only an old electric heater that smelled unsafe and the window panes were cracked. The breakfast waitress was very grumpy and everything seemed to be too much trouble. Pleasant hotel, clean friendly and comfortable with great views. Breakfast Okay - sausages very poor quality though which is a bit of a shame - must be many local farmers who could provide tasty bangers! Recommend the 'Oak Room' restaurant in Lynton. ( Opposite Town Hall / Tourist Board office ). more

There was a room off the reception full of cleaning equipment and washing and the lounge was strewn with childrens toys and a mess. The room was cold, damp, smelt of mould and the toilet smelt... more
We have just returned from a short break at the North Cliff Hotel, having originally booked for just two nights, we soon decided to stay for three. Although it is not as secluded as I thought it would be from the website, it does have fantastic views of Lynmouth. It is two minutes from the little town of Lynton, and... more
