We visited Lynton Cottage for our 'mini-moon's after getting married in Plymouth. We stayed in the Bay View Suite which had a huge comfy four poster bed, large bathroom and chaise in the bay window where we could sit, admire the view and drink champagne. This room is not overlooked so you can leave the curtains open to make the... More

Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice. The four poster bed was so comfy I didn't want to get out of it. But the best thing about the hotel apart from the views were the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I feel they took an average hotel into the realm of excellent. Keep... More

This hotel must occupy the best spot in Lynton, with views from its terrace along the coast to Countisbury and over Lynmouth and the Lyn valley. The hotel is oriented to take best advantage of its location with most rooms having a sea view. There is easily-accessible parking too, directly in front of the hotel. It's not totally perfect, but... More

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. The Tower Suite has the highest elevation in the Hotel, with exposed oak roof beams. This is scheduled for refurbishment on November 3rd. A Balcony will be added to open up the room to sea views, in addition to the views over the Lyn Valley. All of our... More

We decided to return to Lynton Cottage Hotel after a visit earlier in the year and I can honestly say that the hotel really is in a class of its own. Apart from the stunning vistas over Lynmouth, the spacious rooms all contain extremely comfortable king size beds and retain many original features of the building. The staff are friendly... More

Thank you for your comments. Over the last 12 months we have joined smaller rooms into Suites, and opened up previously unused space in other areas of the Hotel. Most of the rooms are now very generous in size and probably amongst the largest on Exmoor. The Orangery Suite has just had its Victorian skylight reinstated, to add another, huge,... More

We arrived at this beautiful place in Devon called Lynton and we were so pleased that we decided to stay at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped inside we couldn't find anything wrong. Our room was exactly how it said it was going to be, we had the most beautiful four poster bed. The room had so much... More

We arranged our 5 day Devon mini break on-line, all on the strength of the location and spectacular views. We were not disappointed. The "drive through" car park was great - no worries. The welcome was genuine and our Sandford Room (room 1) with superior four poster bed was out of this world with magnificent sea views and very clean... More

Would thoroughly recommend this Hotel. It was just what my daughter and I both needed after feeling the stresses of our busy lives, it was a wonderful place to recharge. With everything on the doorstep, yet far away for peace it is the perfect setting. Relaxing atmosphere, great food, friendly staff, and clean. Cant wait to go back....thank you.

Have just come back from staying at this hotel itself is very good and very clean with magnificent scenery couldn't fault the hotel except the food, the food was terrible the first morning I had to send the poached eggs back as they were not cooked and the bacon was so tough I actually broke a tooth on it, we... Thank you for your comments. We welcome accurate remarks but feel that some of your comments are exaggerated. Guests do have different personal tastes in the way their eggs are cooked. As I served you at the table myself, I had opportunity to check the breakfast. Cooked the same way that we have been doing for almost ten years. All... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our 4-night stay in early September. Bill (the owner) and his staff work extremely hard to ensure that guests have a great and memorable experience. We had the Bay View Room and could not have wished for a better panorama of the coastline; the room was very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was... More
