This hotel is perfectly situated for breathtaking views across the bay. On arrival we were shown to our room, the receptionist pointed across the restaurant and left us to it. Not much of a greeting. Our room was huge, with a bed to match! Suspended ceiling not very attractive, reminded me of the office where I work! Great shower, and... More

We booked for 2 nights in this beautiful hotel and added another night and again another night. That way we were able to sample 2 of their best rooms with gorgeous views over the valley and the sea: we kept the curtains open at night to enjoy the scenery every minute we had our eyes open. Great garden for a... More

This hotel is really as good as they get.Everything was as near to perfection as one could get. The management and staff were all very courteous and helpful at all times. The rooms were first class and very clean. The choice of food at breakfast was quite extensive and of high quality. I would certainly recommend this establishment to anyone... More

The hotel is situated 100 yards down a tiny lane off Lynton's main street. It has free off street car parking directly outside the hotel (the reason I chose it in the first place) From the views you could be on on Lake Como. My room was directly overlooking the front of the hotel and when I woke up in... More

Thank you for your comments. One could indeed be overlooking an Italian lake, or be on top of a Greek Island. The views and the scenery gave the area its nickname, "Little Switzerland" by the Victorians, for just this reason. We have been enjoying sunny weather since March, and for the last month especially, the weather has been absolutely glorious.... More

We have stayed in the area many times, but this was the best yet. A warm welcome as we arrived and we found the room exactly as advertised. The hotel is old, quirky, but full of fabulous character and the sea views simply stunning! At night all you could hear was the sea........ Breakfast was excellent with a great staff... More

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. One of the WIFI routers went down in the hot weather, leaving three rooms without coverage. This has been replaced today. Sorry about that. The mobile signal is weak, which can sometimes give Guests a much needed relief from intrusions of work. The exception is the churchyard at... More

Next time we will book a little longer to enjoy this comfortable and stylish hotel. Lynton is a lovely small town.....we ate well and went to the tiny cinema in the Art Centre but the wow factor was in our room which was country house comfortable with a superb view over the sea....just fab! Our bed was large with lovely... More

Thank you for your comments. The Hotel was originally built in 1815 as a "Gentleman's Country Residence" by landed gentry from Somerset. It has been the aim of our refurbishment, to return the Hotel to this image. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to seeing you again. regards Bill More

We booked a 2 night stay at the last minute for an impromptu weekend away. The room (12) was very pleasant with a small balcony and just stunning views of the sea and coastline. It was clean with everything we needed including very well stocked tea and coffee facilities. Each morning, as well as waking up to those views, we... More

Thank you for your comments. Our Balcony rooms prove very popular, especially at this time of year. The elevated position of the Hotel, means that even the Ground floor rooms with private terraces, enjoy a similar effect. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to seeing you again. regards Bill More

We read the reviews and looked at the pictures on the website and were extremely looking forward to our visit but unfortunately we were disappointed. The hotel looked wonderful but in reality it was tired and didn't do justice to the pictures. Our room (de luxe double with magnificent sea view needs a fresh coat of paint, the walls were... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed with your comments. Whilst we accept that sometimes housekeeping standards can slip, it would help to bring this to our attention at the time, in order that we can investigate and do something about it. We have recently introduced extra staffing into our team, to assist us to maintain our usual high... More

Stayed for one night at the beginning of July. We had the Blue Room (7) which has a dual aspect and a wonderful sea view. The blue paint and heavy furniture made the room a little dark but taken together with sloping floor and uneven ceiling this only added rather than detracted from it's character. The super kingsize (and very... More

Thank you for your comments. As a small Hotel exclusive to Guests only, our evening Dining operation is relatively small. Hence we do recommend Guests to book in advance, and give advance notice of this in a number of ways. Fresh fish dishes will be limited if not pre-ordered. That aside, we do offer a choice of ten main courses,... More
