We stayed at Woodlands Guest House in November with a few friends for a walking weekend. Not only is the house stunning, Our hosts were lovely. Steve and Lesley were extremely warm and welcoming, and very knowledgable about the area. The house itself is spacious, immaculately clean and has charming character. The location is brilliant, with exquisite scenery and a... More

We stayed here for two nights and walked on the moors and had a lovely meal in the evening at the Blue Ball. Steve and Lesley are the greatest hosts & make you feel very welcome. The breakfast was of a very high quality with fresh fruit salad, homemade muesli & marmalades and Steve cooks the most delicious scrambled eggs!

Woodlands is an oasis of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of big towns and cities. It is nestled in the narrow valley which contains the West Lyn River so naturally has steep steps and slopes leading to it but all the best things in life are worth a bit of toiling over. Lesley and Steve are exceptionally welcoming.... More

Stayed at Woodlands for two nights over Christmas. Really nice Victorian villa, lovely large high ceiling rooms. Ours had a beautifully fitted wet room and a very comfortable superking size bed. Steve and Leslie were really welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. Thanks for helping us have a great Christmas.

I stayed at the Woodlands Guesthouse with a few friends while spending a weekend kayaking in Devon. It's a beautifully restored building with gorgeous amenities nestled on the side of a valley with the river flowing just below. Lesley and Steve provided warm hospitality and a delicious breakfast which had us ready for each day of our activities. They also... More

Steve and Lesley were so accommodating during our stay at Woodlands, they truly were the perfect, welcoming hosts. The house itself is lovely, purched on a little hill with lovely views on the valley, a short walk from the town centre, the harbour, and a very short walk (about 3 minutes) to an excellent thai restaurant. There is a lovely... More

This was by far the nicest place we have stayed in Devon. We can't fault anything. The guesthouse is perfectly located close to Lynton's centre and places to eat. The cottage inn is literally a 3-4 minute walk from the guesthouse, where you are surrounded by beautiful woodland countryside. The guesthouse itself has a lovely decor, with comfortable and spacious... More

We were warmly greeted by our hosts, Steve and Lesley and shared a welcome drink with them. Steve and Lesley are gracious hosts who make you feel at home. Steve's cooked breakfasts of fresh locally sourced foods are divine and Lesley is the most cheerful waitress. The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated and have extremely comfortable beds and a superb... More
