We stayed at Highcliffe House for a few days in October. The views across both towns and the sea from the rooms are outstanding. The rooms are very clean, well furnished and ours was spacious, although the bathroom was a bit small considering the cost of the rooms. I can see why there are the comments about Mike, he comes... more

Lynton is set on a 500 ft plateau above the harbour village of Lynmouth below, the twin villages connected by 1:4 Lynmouth Hill, various steep zig zag paths and the famous cliff railway. Highcliffe House itself is set a little further above, to the rear of and slightly out of the village of Lynton, with the property accessed via Sinai... more

We have just spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend break at this lovely hotel. To call it a B&B doesn't do it justice! It's more of a boutique hotel in every way. The house has stunning views over the bay, from all communal areas (and all bedrooms I gather) unobtrusive service and the most amazing breakfasts. We were welcomed with a... more

We stayed for only one night in mid-September. Upon arrival, Mike helped with the bags and Karen made us comfortable with a tray of tea in one of the very comfy lounges. Our room was as nice as it looks on their website. The amenities were on par with any very expensive hotel. Breakfast was a combination of fabulous views... more

I arrived on Mike and Karen's doorstep shaking from an accident I'd had on the way from Heathrow. While Karen served hot tea and offered a comforting hug, Mike unloaded the car and they both escorted me to my room. Myrtleberry with its views of sea cliffs and rainbows and the two little sister towns of Lynton and Lynmouth nestled... more

Very relaxed guest house with good facilities and a great breakfast. The whole house was tastefully decorated to a high standard (certainly not the retro 70's you sometimes encounter) and had a lovely warm feeling to it. Karen and Mike were perfect hosts throughout our stay. Definitely a five star location and one we'll come back to soon. more

I booked this b&b as a present for my husband to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary and it lived up to all our expectations and more! The accommodatation is 5star but the atmosphere is not at all "stuffy" but very welcoming. Mike greeted us on arrival and couldn't have been more helpful (I totally disagree with previous reviews that thought... more

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of April, looking for some r and r in a beautiful location. Highcliffe House is exactly as the website portrays, fab views and the accommdation is probably the nicest we have stayed at in England. We primarily chose this for the location as we wanted a good base to do plenty of... more

Been looking through the previous review, and quite agree with one reveiw that this place is very pleasant on the room and view side, however the only flaw is the co-owner mike. We arrived later than 6pm on valentine day and we did phone up beforehand to let them know but when we arrived we felt not particularlly welcomed by... more

We have just stayed at the Highcliffe for a belated wedding anniversary. The Highcliffe is more than a guest house and more than a five star rating, its a beautiful retreat with outstanding charm. The owners Karen and Mike cannot do enough to make your stay complete. On arriving after a 3 hour journey, it was lovely to have been... more
