We were greeted by both our hosts, Penny and Paul, with a welcome cup of tea. They were both lovely throughout our stay. We did however feel that although they gave us the info we asked for, they could have given us more inside local knowledge. When we saw Paul dressed in his chef whites, we were expecting something special... More

We spent a lovely Easter weekend in Lynton at Waterloo House. We stayed in the suite on the top floor which was a lovely surprise, spacious but homely and comfortable. Penny and Paul were perfect hosts and extremely welcoming. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection and the information supplied by Penny on where to go was spot on. We had... More

I stayed at Waterloo House with my little dog, Paul and Penny made both of us very welcome, there was fresh milk in the fridge in our room, and delicious breakfast every morning, the bed in the single room was really comfortable and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean, I will definitely be returning.

I had stayed here before and brought a group this time. We weren't disappointed, the rooms are styled with lots of attention to detail, they were clean and comfortable and we slept very well. The owners, who run the B&B themselves, are very friendly and give you lots of tips about what to do in the area. The breakfast was... More

I love staying in Lynton and it's like a second home to me and my family. Unfortunately on this occasion I was not on holiday, it was my ex father in laws funeral. I booked direct with Paul and stayed in the single room for two nights. The room was small but it had everything needed in it and was... More

My husband and I decided to hop in the car and take ourselves off somewhere for the weekend, consequently we ended up in Lynton. We managed to get the last room at Waterloo House for the one night, (after asking at a few others which were full), and are we glad we stayed there, Paul greeted us, provided fresh milk... More

Penny & Paul were very welcoming, friendly hosts. We stayed in the more modern bedroom which suited us. The house is beautiful and having guest lounge was great to relax in. Breakfast was delicious, we were sorry not to have managed more! Penny had some great ideas for places to go, we took her advice & visited Dunster on the... More

After my sister thinking Lynton was the lower village, we booked our stay, then discovered it was the top village. However, we were glad of the mistake, as we got the best of both worlds and wouldn't have found Penny and Paul's lovely guest house. They were so friendly and helpful. We had delicious breakfasts daily and the room was... More

Always a worry when you book a new hotel, just on price alone and you wonder what to expect. Well my partner and I stayed 3 nights over the Spring Bank Holiday at this small hotel (only 5 bedrooms I believe) and we could not have been made more welcome by the hosts Paul and Penny. Paul's cooked breakfasts were... More
