We received a very warm welcome on arrival, along with a most welcome pot of tea served in the guests sitting room. The nearest pub, within walking distance, is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays when "out of season", but we were recommended to try the Blue Ball Inn at the top of Countisbury Hill where we had an excellent evening... Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a positive review. It was very nice to meet you both and we hope to see you again. I do feel, however, that I need to correct just one thing you mentioned and that is with regard to our guests parking. Paul and Clare, the owners of our... More

My wife and I went here for a small getaway and couldn't recommend the place more. The cozy well appointed apartment was immaculately presented. The hosts were friendly and approachable. The cottage itself was a terrific value situated within walking distance of trails, a great pub (The Bridge Inn), and the town of Lynton. I highly recommend this cottage!

Debra and Gary did all that they could to make our stay enjoyable. Comfortable accommodation in a delightful historic cottage. Food was very good, off street parking available (very important in the small roads in this location). Good pub a 2 minute walk away - good standard of food and delicious takeaway pizzas. A good base for walking and there... More

After spending the bank holiday weekend in the self-catering “apartment”, we will definitely be returning for another visit! The owners Debra and Gary are very nice welcoming people and it seemed nothing would be too much trouble. For instance, on Saturday night, our car was blocked in by another guest and Gary offered us a lift if we needed. The... More

This was our second visit to Jay Cottage. We stayed last year after we had just got engaged on Lynmouth beach! Once again we had a lovely weekend. Debra and Gary are very friendly and hospitable, the room was great with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room is beautifully presented. The cottage is a few minutes... My wife and I have just returned from a weekend break, and stayed in Jay Cottage. The cottage is beautiful and rustic, our room with its four poster bed was of a decent size considering we were in a cottage and a large en suite. The room was clean and well presented and the couple who own and run this... More

We stayed at Jay Cottage for a weekend break. We were made to feel very welcome, the room was lovely and breakfast was superb. Set us up for a full days walk and a great place to come back to and relax! Well worth a visit.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from an enjoyable stay at Jay Cottage. Located on the edge of Exmoor National Park, we visited hoping to find relaxing settings and a base from which we could do some walking and visit some of the local attractions such as the Valley of the Rocks. We were greeted by the friendly couple... More

This is the second time we have stayed here in this B&B and found it lovely. The couple, Debra and Gary are extremely friendly, helpful and obliging. They catered for our needs without complaint and this included a very early breakfast on the Saturday. The rooms are lovely and there is obviously a lot of thought gone into decoration etc.... More
